Consolidated book suggestions for AP

Does this seem good?

Lit-nothing?
Physics C-PR
Euro-MEH+PR
Psych-Barrons
Latin-REA I guess, since there’s nothing
Macro (if I plan to self-study it)-5 Steps+PR

is 5 steps to a 5 good for APES???

^not sure, but i’ve heard overall that Princeton Review is great for APES

is princeton review good for ap english language?

^I think it’s good. I know a bunch of people like Cliff’s though. I had a friend who used PR and liked it though

Thanks so much chess94!

@chroni i took ap english lang and got a 4 by doing almost nothing, what i did do though is get the barrons book (solely bc it had more prac tests, although i never did those…) and went through about the first dozen of pages where it just tells you to look for literary terms. then the morning of i looked thru the back where they had a glossary of literary terms. in class, we took a few practice tests here and there and thats waht really helps because those are SOO much harder than the real exam. hope this helped lol

So the consensus for Physics B is Princeton Review, but what about Statistics? Should I buy Barrons or PR?

barrons for stat. thats what i just got today.

Hi everyone! I have a few questions if anyone can help. Also, any suggestions for APCG/AP Psych. prep in general would be very much appreciated.

Comparative Government (self study): will the Ethel Wood prep book be enough for a 4/5?

Psychology (self study): the general consensus seems to be that Barron’s is enough for a 4/5. T/F?

Thanks!

which one is better for AP Chem?
PR or Barron?

For Stats i’ve heard Barron’s. For AP Chem I’ve heard PR is excellent.

^scratch that. I just read PR for Chem is great if you have the class, but if you want a more thorough review book (meaning you’re self-studying) then Barron’s is the way to go.

@chess94…

thanks…im taking AP chem at school…so from ur point…PR is enough, right?

I’m not sure, that’s just what i’ve read from everywhere else on CC. I havent taken the class yet. But, it seems PR would be enough based on what i’ve read. I can’t give a good opinion since i havent had the class or eitehr of the books.

For AP Enviro. Sci. the Princeton Review book worked exceptionally well. However, I also prepared with the Miller “Living In The Environment” textbook. The Princeton book provided concise summaries and highlighted topics that appeared directly on the AP exam. I definately recommend this book for self-studying. In addition, it is helpful to have a good bio/chem/physics knowledge as AP enviro is interdiscipline. I’m happy; I got a 5!

I just got a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam and can put my insight on the Barron’s // PR discussion.

Barron’s - great if you need a VERY comprehensive review. This book is THICK and contains a LOT of information, even some that may be unnecessary. The practice tests for this book are HARD but prepare you very very well for the test. If you’re taking an AP Chem class and have an excellent teacher, this book is not what you need.

PR - not as insightful as Barron’s, but great if you need to review some things here and there. Once again, it really depends on your teacher. If you have a great teacher, and have a great grasp on most of the concepts, this book works well. The practice tests aren’t as hard as Barron’s, but it gives you a good idea of how the test is like.

There’s my insight! But, of course, if you REALLY want good practice with free response, you can’t beat previous exams!

Sorry for double post, forgot to ask my own question.

Which books for these subjects? I’ll list the class and what I heard works.
Calc AB/BC w/ class - PR
Psychology self study- Barron’s
Human Geography self study - PR (the newer one coming out in september)
Physics C E + E/M w/ class- PR
Macro/micro economics self study - 5 steps to a 5
Comp science A w/ class - Barron’s

What do you guys think? thanks.

^For Human Geography, PR is great, especially if you self study

how bout

Physics B
APUSH
Ap Calc AB

all with class, i just need it to complement class and help me study for class tests and for the ap exam.
