Consolidated book suggestions for AP

For Physics B, PR or Barrons??!??!?

and how bout calc ab?

For Calculus (BC more specifically), Arco covers all the topics and they are put in a way that is easy to understand. Barrons has useful reviews and sample multiple choice questions at the end of every chapter. I heard that the PR sample tests are WAY too easy.

AP Stat? Can anyone vouch for PR? (borders didn’t have it, so i’d have to order without looking at it)

Will these study guides still work for the following subjects even though the grading policy is different this year?

Biology: Cliffs 3rd Edition
Psychology: Barron’s (2010 Revision)
U.S. History: AMSCO (2010 Revision)

Also I need study guide suggestions for the following courses:

Environmental Science
English Language and Composition

Thanks in advance.

AMSCO is awesome. Get it.

Would somebody please specify the best review books for these 4 classes

AP US History (People are saying Amsco but my teacher says PR. I’m confused :'()
AP Environmental Science (Preferably a self study review book. As in no need for class to 4 or 5 this exam although I am taking a class but not really learning anything)
AP English (A REVIEW book is fine)
AP Physics (NOW THIS ONE, I AM EXTREMELY NERVOUS ABOUT. I have only taken 1 physics class before but I didn’t learn anything and I MEAN NOTHING!. Maybe some variables, what they mean, and got familiar with the AP exam sheet equations which I had no idea meant. I was pretty much forced into the class and I am so nervous about the AP Exam. I need a self study book, be it review or even a “small” textbook. My teacher gave me the physics for scientists and engineers book but is that enough to teach me alone. So would someone please help me get through this course and just provide me with a 3 on the exam. I would be extremely greatful. I hear its the hardest ap exam out there)

Would someone please help me out ASAP. I am in extreme anxiety and its bothering me so. Thanks

The most common recommendation I see is a combination of Amsco and REA’s Crash Course. I got both of them, and they both look promising for my use throughout the school year and as review supplements before the AP exam.

As for your teacher having a differing opinion, think of it this way: Who actually *uses *the book and has to learn and review from it? The students or the teacher? So, IMO, the opinion of dozens of students who recommend Amsco and REA far outweighs a teacher’s opinion.

Is Integrated Chinese (books 1-3) considered good for Chinese?

Which book for AP USH that isn’t 20 dollars (new or used) on amazon? I’d take Amsco, but $20 just seems like a lot for a review book :(

At about 700 pages long, it’s more like a text book and is definitely worth $20.

The other book that’s recommended just as much as AMSCO for quick, effective reviewing is REA’s Crash Course (it MUST say Crash Course on the cover; there is one that looks similar but doesn’t say Crash Course; that’s NOT the one to get), and it was only $11.95 at Borders. It’s about 230 pages but it’s very small and is a quick read.

Physics C mechanics anyone!?!?!

Why does the Barron’s AP Enviro book get such a bad rep? I enjoyed using it and I basically had to self study the material because our teacher was new and didn’t really know how to teach the material. I got a 5.

Would these choices be good for review books?

Stat-PR
Bio-Cliffs/PR
Calc AB-PR
Whap-PR
Eng Lang-Cliffs/PR
Physics Mech-PR/barrons

the slashes mean i don’t know which is better, also please give me general overview if the other review books are good for the subjects as well.

thanks

^No go Barrons for Stats/ Pr for physics because of thorough and accurate review problems/ go Cliffs for AP english because the practice tests (5 of them) are almost identical to the actual AP test.

Does anyone have suggestions for the following:

APES
AP Psych
AP Macro/Micro
AP Human Geog

I plan to self-study these for the next few months. Given that I am also taking Ap Chem, Calc B/C, and APLAC, how much studying do you guys suppose I’ll have to do for these?

Cliffs for Bio is amazing. Other than a few harmless typos, it is the most concise yet detailed (and it’s got a good price).

Suggestions for these subjects? (review books, not textbooks)

Calc BC
Stats
Econ
Physics C

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned or not but Barron’s for Art History is decent, also if you get the version with the cd theres a flashcard feature that is CRAZY helpful. I love it.

Best prep books for Calc AB, Eng Lit, and Art History?

I already own *Be Prepared for the AP Calculus Exam/I but I see that people really like Princeton Review. Should I purchase that one as well? Or would that be unnecessary? Please don’t recommend Peterson’s; I wanted to get it originally but it’s out of print and ridiculously priced on Amazon lol

As for AP Lit, should I get a review book or not? Some say that prep books won’t help you but others recommend Cliff’s or Barron’s. Help?

Frankly, I really don’t like APAH. I have REA already and I was really torn when buying the book since some love Barron’s but can’t really explain why it trumps REA, if it does. Is Barron’s necessary?

Thank you for reading :)
