For APs I have taken/am taking (just feel like helping out):

AP Euro - Barron’s is pretty good, though I would only use it to supplement a class. AP U.S. Gov - Barron’s is amazing as a review book, but again I wouldn’t self-study with it. AP Comp Gov - Get Ethel Wood’s guide. You are set for a 5. AP Calc - I didn’t need a review book. If you have a good teacher you’ll be fine. AP Lang - See AP Calc. AP Psych - Barron’s is all you need to self-study. AP Physics C - Princeton Review is absolutely amazing. 'Nuff said.

I am also taking AP Lit, APUSH, AP German, AP Stat this year but haven’t gotten review books yet, so I cannot recommend anything yet. Sorry.

I am taking AP Biology and AP U.S. History this year, and I am thinking about studying for AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, and AP U.S. Government and Politics starting right now. Is this doable or am I too late? I have heard that the AP classes I am taking at my school are good for getting a 5 on the AP tests. The AP classes at my school for the APs on want to self study are only a semester long. I have 1-2 hours of free time during the school days and 2-3 on days where there is no school.
Here are the books I am thinking of getting based on what has been said in the past on CC. For the APs I will self study, I would like to not have to use any textbook.
AP Biology: CliffsAP, Princeton
AP U.S. History: United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination, Princeton
AP Macroeconomics: 5 Steps to a 5, Princeton
AP Microeconomics: 5 Steps to a 5, Princeton
AP U.S. Government and Politics: Crash Course, Princeton
Is it overkill to get Princeton for every AP and is it good to safely get a 3, 4, or 5 on the AP tests?

I wouldn’t get 5 to 5 for Economics, I have it now and I really dislike the graphs. I guess if you get the PR and 5 to 5 it’d be fine if PR has good graphs, and besides the graphs, 5 to 5 has decent content but it doesn’t seem to cover a lot of stuff in my school Econ book (I’ve finished the class, and I’m about halfway through the guide). Econ isn’t a big text so I’d recommend getting borrowing and skimming one from your school.

Oh, and does anyone know a good Euro book for self-study? I don’t mind if it’s only good for supplementing a text, but I’d prefer one that is basically stand-alone like the Amsco for APUSH.

PR should be you be self-study guide for APHG. I wrote the text with self-study student in mind. Make sure to also have a college level textbook.

Which is best for AP CALC BC? I’ve skimmed over 10 or so pages and it seems as if the 3 best are PR, Peterson’s/ARCO, and Be Prepared for the AP Calc Exam… Can anyone narrow it down for me? :)

From going through this thread and personal experience this is what I came up with:

Art History- Barron’s
Biology- 5 steps to a 5, Cliffs
Calculus AB- Barron’s
Calculus BC- Barron’s
Chemistry- 5 steps to a 5
Chinese Lang. and Culture- Barron’s
Computer Science A- Barron’s
English Language- 5 steps to a 5
English Literature- Barron’s
Environmental Science- 5 steps to a 5
European History- Modern European History
French Language- REA
Government and Politics, US- 5 steps to a 5
Human Geography- Barron’s
Japanese Lang. and Culture- Strive for a 5
Latin Vergil- REA
Macroeconomics- 5 steps to a 5
Microeconomics- 5 steps to a 5
Music Theory- Barron’s
Physics B- 5 steps to a 5
Physics C- Barron’s
Psychology- Barron’s
Spanish Language- 5 steps to a 5
Spanish Literature- Azulejo
Statistics- Barron’s
United States History- AMSCO, REA
World History- 5 steps to a 5

While it is difficult to write a prep book for languages, it would be helpful, nonetheless, if at least just for the format and questions on those.

Is Barron’s + Cliff Notes + REA Crash Course for AP Bio exam sufficent enough? I do not liked 5 Steps to a 5 and TPR for AP Biology because they are concise in many parts…

From what I’ve been able to tell, Cliff’s alone is sufficient for the AP Biology myself. I have the study guide myself and highly recommend it for its concise and relevant information.

I am currently studying for AP Bio exam, and I swaer that I never read the textbook of Campbell. I bought “Student Study Guide for Campbell Biology.” What two prep books should I choose (I would prefer using two prep books): Barron’s & Cliffs & Student Study Guide for Campbell Biology ??
