I’m a sophomore at Fordham University with a 3.1 GPA, 1480 (M+CR) SATs, a National Merit Scholarship and a 3.9 HS GPA. At school I’m part of the Pre-Law Society, Finance Society, work at the professional radio station (WFUV) and will be a member of Beta Alpha Psi.

But I hate it here, from the teachers to the coursework to the location to the seemingly pervasive character qualities of the students. I just want to start new, and heck, a new GPA wouldn’t be too bad either.

Is there any chance I could do a “lateral” transfer to a school of equal prestige (like Villanova) or does my GPA restrict me to only transferring “down”?

Villanova may actually be a step up considering your in the “Finance Society” hence your probably a business major. Villanova has a very reputable business program. As far as a lateral transfer is concerned you probably have a decent shot at Syracuse, Clemson, and Rutgers.
