contacting coaches?

Hi,

One of my fellow classmates who is a wrestler(State Competitor, nothing special), with an above average academic record (I am not sure on the specifics), contacted the wrestling coach who supposedly got him in? Is this really possible? Like if I talked to West Point’s swimming coach and made myself out to be a well rounded person, could that speed up my acceptance process?

I don’t think so…it might give you a better chance at the prep school if you just need a little academic help. http://www.goarmysports.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=11100&KEY=&SPID=4596&SPSID=56267</a> Here’s a contact page for the coaches.

If you have what WP admisions/coaches are looking for, then yes, it could speed up your admissions process; but you would have to be able to verify your claims. If however you embellished your record in academics, sports or leadership “to look like a well rounded person”, you would be doing yourself more harm than good…

sorry that came out wrong I wouldn’t want to lie. I was just told that I was well rounded by a marine recruiting officer for rotc scholarships, so I just thought that I was…
