<p>My son is applying to day and boarding schools in the Boston area for 7th grade. He is a top hockey player but is it normal to contact coaches at these schools when he is only in 6th grade?</p>
<p>We have a kid who played varsity at a competitive private school as a 7th grader, so, if your kid is a ‘top player’, it would be expected for you to reach out to the varsity coaches.</p>
