Contacting The Superdelegates

Write to your Superdelegates and urge them to commit for Obama to force Clinton to go away before she can do more damage. HP has instructions and lists of all delegates and who they represent.

Please write even if you are an unregistered or undecided voter. It is clear that Clinton has no chance of winning the nomination without extremely dirty politics, Rovian tactics, and other things that will cause great advantage to the Republicans, and damage to the Democrats.

Do you want another 8 years of war, sinking into poverty, human rights’ violations, Constitutional violations, your government engaging in torture, the Supreme Court stacked with all Republicans indefinitely.

Even if you are not 100% sure Obama is the best choice, the numbers are irrefutable. He has a majority of pledged delegates. That number cannot change.

Superdelegates can change their votes, and the one’s holding out are doing so for the best political deal from H or B. Let them know your won’t stand for that. They represent you, not their wallet.

Huffington Post has the names of all the so far undeclared Supers.

drop it sunnymamere…

funny you mention sinking into poverty which is exactly what will happen if a democrat gets elected, especially BO.

Rated PG, I assume you won’t be participating. Thanks for letting me know.

right Sunny … not participating. Just wondering if you could explain how BO will reverse the “sinking into poverty” that we are currently experiencing. Oh, right, I know… “Change” and “We Can”. That’s the answer.

What would we all do if our government wasn’t here to save us? I’ve lost count on the number of freebies B.O. has promised but I’m sure he’ll eventually promise something that might interest me! Oh wait that’s pandering for my vote! Thank goodness he’s nothing like JFK who told the country to grow up and stop asking for hand outs! I can relax now the nanny state will soon be here! Let’s see if he takes away the .08 cents per gallon profit from big oil , I’ll be able to save a dollar a week at the pump. Now I get it take away any profits that seem unfair who’s next Walmart. Should government be allowed to enforce arbitrary caps on profit that they deem to be unfair? Next they will be trying to tell me what I can and can not eat! Oh wait they’re already starting that nonsense too! Does anyone else see our rights ,conspicuously being taken away from us ? Government has no right to promise happiness just the right to pursue it!!!

“Contacting The Superdelegates”

Now that is dirty blackmail.

Coming from you Simba, I consider it a real compliment. Thanks!

Don’t forget to write.

I’m looking for a candidate who will reduce, not increase entitlements. So that people have more incentive to work. Also to clean up programs such as Social Security disability, and all of the fraud involved in that program as well as many others. I believe Obama would like everyone on government handouts and welfare and he can smile about all the change he made, to increase government dependence.

However, I am still trying to figure out who invented AIDS. When he reveals that, I’ll consider voting for him. I guess his pastor/spititual advisor knows(?)

thanks sweetie.

TerpDad: I certainly do see rights being taken away from Americans. But if you’re concerned with rights you know as well as I do that the most egregious violations of liberty that are currently in place are largely Republican-supported, including the Patriot Act, various other either illegal or immoral intrusions on privacy in the name of safety, the war on the ability of adults to make a free choice with regards to what they consume (aka the war on drugs), attempts to restrict the ability of free adults to enter into a voluntary contract with each other (anti-gay marriage/civil unions), and so forth. See, as a libertarian, I am not seeing Obama as worse than any Republicans on this (except probably Ron Paul). He looks a lot better, in fact.

I don’t agree with his economic policies though, that’s for sure.

This link provides excellent guidelines for writing to congress. Many will find it useful when looking for internships.

[How to Write Letters to Congress](Tips for Writing Effective Letters to Congress)

Writing to your elected officials from your own state is most important.

The Numbers/CNN 5/22

2026 delegates needed to become the nominee

Obama - pledged - 1658
super - 307
total - 1965

Clinton - p - 1500
s - 279
t - 1779

Remaining uncommitted Superdelegates is unclear.

Edwards s- 3 went to Obama

The categories of Superdelegates include:
Representatives

Distinguished Party Officials

Senators

Governors

Add-Ons

DNC Members

The link above tells how to write a letter, how to address the official, and where to find the email addresses.

I don’t think Hillary is doing any damage to anyone. She is now a non-entity (and has been for more than a month). Cable tv needs to fill the time - it’s either Hillary or the reincarnation of OJ.

I don’t agree with Obama’s economic plans either - WAY too conservative. His health care plan will spend several trillion over 10 years in giveaways to the health insurers and pharmaceutical companies. His stance on military spending is ridiculous. And I want to know how he’ll deal with “welfare fraud” - huge corporations eating at the government trough.

(I"m voting for him anyway.)

You know mini, though you and I are probably on the exact opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of economic thought, we agree on that: the government needs to get straight out of the business of subsidizing corporations. Not only does it promote inefficient and wasteful market structures (look at the ridiculous subsidies agribusinesses and other farm sector firms receive despite their comparative disadvantage and inefficiency), but it also wastes the public’s time - because representatives assume that their subsidies give them the right to spend all their time riding on various corporations for whatever goal, which is wasteful.

Furthermore, Obama really, really needs to cut the rhetoric about NAFTA. It’s not going anywhere, and he knows it (or should).

I’m just waiting for the day when I see a candidate whose economic policies make sense without the kind of garbage social conservative baggage that normally goes along with the Republican candidates who tend to have the more intelligent economic policies.

The biggest subsidy by far, from a libertarian perspective, is the military budget. Protection of shipping lanes, protection of foreign markets, protection of foreign governments that enable corporations to rip off natural resources. It is one giant protectionist scheme, AND the military (read: you and me) are the largest purchasers of corporate goods and services, most of which with built in obsolescence. Everything else pales in comparison.

NAFTA is code for “neo-liberalism”, government-supported corporate ripoffs of community resources. (And that’s probably why it isn’t going anywhere.)

“You know mini, though you and I are probably on the exact opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of economic thought, we agree on that: the government needs to get straight out of the business of subsidizing corporations.”

That’s exactly why universal, single-payor health care, with strict regulation of pharmaceutical companies as public utilities, makes so much sense.

Same sentiments Mini, except that I do not believe Hillary is a “done deal” just yet. I look at her as someone experiencing Kubler-Ross’s Stages of Grief, who in stuck in denial. It is not uncommon for someone to not progress normally through the stages. They get permanently stuck in denial. The same could be said of Bill. Given the incidences in the past 8 year (yes, Bush stole the election), nobody can be too complacent.

Anyone can recognize it will take years to clean up our current mess, and that Obama will likely become a Corporate shill. But we know for sure the Clinton’s already have.

Obama at this point is saying what he has to say to be a politician. We don’t know for sure what he will do. We know for sure what the Clinton’s and McCain will do.

Please write. Do it for the children.

She can be stuck in denial forever, as far as I’m concerned, and it doesn’t make one wit of difference.

funny you mention sinking into poverty which is exactly what will happen if a democrat gets elected, especially BO.

Keeping the poverty level artificially low, is not going to help families put food on the table or pay the rent.

Bloomberg is reporting that the Obama and Clinton campaigns are in talks that may lead to the vice presidency for Hillary. God. Is she ever gonig to go away?

Yes, it could make a wit of difference, and I hope you are also not stuck in denial, Mini.

1.By being such a destructive force, by not gracefully leaving, she can disinfranchise many party members.

2.While some think the Florida/Michigan issues are resolved, she does not. She won’t let the issue drop. This can go to the Convention in August unsettled, according to DNC laws, as I know them.

3.The longer this goes on, the more it hurts Obama. Let McCain toughen him up.

4.I hope the true Hillary haters are not enjoying her humiliation and are willing to let it play out, at the expense of the damage she is doing.
