I’m pretty sure it was Clear Care that gave my son the trouble this week…go figure!

^ it’s really important to use the included case and not to ever rinse them and then put them straight in one’s eye, because the hydrogen peroxide will sting. The solution is supposed to neutralize to saline in the case in 6 hours. Maybe that was part of his problem?

^^ ALso very important to use a new case or at least a new metal ring every time you start a new bottle of solution. Eventually the metal ring wears out, and it doesn’t cause the hydrogen peroxide to completely resolve itself within 6 hours. OUCH!

I switched to dailies when I started college because I started having eye infection issues with the monthly ones. Now I love knowing I get to wear a fresh pair everyday! One less thing to worry about.

Not all prescriptions are available in dailies. My daughter (the only contact lens wearer in our family) is extremely nearsighted and has astigmatism as well. The only choice for her is monthlies. If you start a new pair on the first of the month, as she does, this should not be a problem.

lafalum- I would not recommend that practice (wearing the 30 day lenses well past 30 days). It turns out that the lenses do break down and can have undetectable rough spots- that is, undetectable until you get a painful corneal abrasion…or some other infection. A few days past the 30 days isn’t a problem, but trying to “stretch out” the lenses turns out not to be very smart. (speaking from experience…)
