Contemporary Music?

<p>Hi, I’m currently looking for schools with contemporary music programs (I live in CA). I will be transferring from a CCC. </p>

<p>The question I wanted to ask is… what are the benefits of going into a contemporary music program offered at a four year university, over one of those colleges which just give you a certificate? </p>

<p>What’s the difference between the many trade schools for contemporary music in LA, and a bachelor’s in contemporary music at an actual university? </p>

<p>For example, if both were certificate programs, would they be essentially the same? </p>

<p>One difference is that having a bachelors degree can get you into grad school, or it can get you an entry-level non-music job in which the degree requirement is a non-specific bachelors.</p>
