There’s no denying that when you hear the one person that utters the word “conversate” in their statement you simply feel sorry for them and somewhat question their overall literacy. I think they should just throw in the word “conversate” into the dictionary since so many backwards people are using.

Better than irregardless.

or humbleness…

or lol. I see that in essays way too much.

I thought humbleness is a word… it’s not? It’s defined on Merriam Webster [Humbleness - Definition and More from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary](Humbleness Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster)

I have never, ever heard anyone use the word (?) “humbleness.” Uh, that’s ridiculous.

What could replace “conversate” then?

***? conversate? never heard anyone use that.

I have heard of humbleness being used, but what would you use to describe someone of that quality ? Just use humble?

AGHGHG, my english is so bad…I guess that’s why I’m in the hard sciences. =P

Converse is the correct word, yume.

Or “talk” =] people throw million-dollar words around way too much xD

Conversate has a definition [Conversate | Definition of Conversate at Dictionary.com:](CONVERSATE Definition & Usage Examples | Dictionary.com)

It’s slang, but so are many real words.

HAHAHA.

I hope this isn’t used too often, but someone said “pursuement” in a presentation a few days ago. Literacy is going down the drain o_o

My new favorite word.

ive never heard anyone say that

Don’t forget “orientate.” Ugh.

It IS a word. I just precedented it.

I can understand when you’re speaking, and you occasionally come up with words on the fly, or you accidentally form them correctly. I’ve definitely accidentally used “conversate” instead of “converse.” On the other hand, the noun of humble is humility, and I’ve never made that mistake.

Thank you applicannot. Humility is the correct word.

In regards to the word “talk,” I’ve heard people say stupid things such as “I’ve already talked” as opposed to “I’ve already spoken”

Any college-educated person would know that talk and spoke definitely aren’t interchangeable.

I used to think “observative” was a word.

it is a word…just not to be used in a formal sense.
