Hi. My sis. and I were having a discussion about the conversion of out SAT scores. She got a 1240 in 1994

That is:
640V
600M

According to an SAT converter, that corresponds to a a current score of

700V
600M

That Verbal seems ok, but that math score doesn’t change. Can anyone confirm this from either personal experience or other. THanks.

What is the link for the SAT converter that you used?

You probably used the scales from collegeboard.com , yes? Your conversion looks correct.

Your conversion is correct.

For others comparing old scores to new ones, here is a link to the collegeboard web page for conversions from tests taken before April 1995 to the modern scale:

<a href=“http://professionals.collegeboard.com/data-reports-research/sat/equivalence-tables/sat-score[/url] ”>Higher Education Professionals | College Board ;

(note that what you add to the old scores to get equivalent new ones depends on what the old scores were)

For those REALLY interested (warning: non-trivial math) in how the conversion was done, here is a link to a 2002 paper by ETS:
