# converting grade to 4.0 scale?

My school only gives a weighted average that's not out of a 4.0 so if my weighted average is a 101 what is that in terms of unweighted/weighted 4.0 scale?

thanks

Use this to calculate: National College Match Program: FAQ

really? a 93+ average = 4.0?

that seems too generous

edit: i know the 93 means unweighted so unweighted gpa for me is like 91/92 so i'm close to a 4.0 I guess?

GPA is calculated using grades from each individual class and then averaged. So add up the number of grade points earned from each individual class where
90 - 92 = 3.67
87 - 89 = 3.33
86 - 83 = 3
80 - 82 = 2.67
etc.

and then divide by the number of classes.

so for example freshman year with 3 94's, 2 91's and 1 89
GPA = (34) + (23.67) + (3.33) = 22.67/6 classes = 3.78 GPA

To calculate cumulative (over all of high school) just add in your sophomore and junior classes' grades and divide by the extra number of classes.

Well, it's a program that a lot of top schools use. I assume that they know what they're talking about.
