We have a gas furnace so our house already has a gas line leading into it. Does anyone have a rough estimate what it would cost, or what it cost you, to run another line to change from an electric stove/oven to a gas one?
At one time we were given an estimate - I swear it was something like $1K-$2K. It was enough that we didn’t do it. I suppose it will depend on where your home lines are, etc.
It depends on the location of your stove… Also, if you have an unfinished basement, it will be easier.
We converted a laundry room for a gas dryer and if I recall, it was roughly $2K but that was a number of years back. They ran the line through the garage in that case.
I don’t remember it being much, but we have an unfinished basement so access is really easy. We had a plumber install the line.
We installed gas in our home (converted from oil heat). We converted hot water to gas also. However, the cost was too high when we did our kitchen (kept the electric) and when we replaced our dryer (again electric).
Ours was a few years ago, it cost about $300. The location was convenient in that though the kitchen had no gas line, the back wall was the common wall for the gas boiler area in the finished basement. It would have been a fairly straightforward job. I have to say though, I would now not bother and get an an induction/convection combo if I was replacing my oven. If you haven’t tried induction, try it out first.
