Convertors, adapters and Mac Books - Paris, England, Italy and Ireland - help

Hi,

I’m confused on what I need to buy for convertors and adaptors - travel is to France, England, Ireland and Italy - the majority of the time will be spent in England.

Most important is being sure the Mac Book Pro works, also need power to recharge camera and cell batteries.

Can someone point me in the right direction so I can figure out what I need to buy.
Thanks!!

You can just buy a converter so that you can still use your power adapter for your mac. Mainland Europe uses the same plug I thought, but for some reasons Brits like to be different again so they use another. I guess you have to buy two converters for everything to work in all countries.

I used this on my trip last summer. The adapter works perfectly (and comes with interchangeable plugs for every country) and can charge anything with a USB cable.

[Apple World Travel Adapter Kit - Apple Store (U.S.)](<a href=“Power & Cables - iPad Accessories - Apple”>Power & Cables - iPad Accessories - Apple)

This is just what I was looking for and knowing it will work with all the Apple stuff is perfect. Thanks for the link

That thing is about 5 times more money than you need to spend. Just get a world plug adaptor thing in the airport for about $6-7. It won’t look as slick but it will work just as well.

But paying 5 times as much to look cool is what apple customers are all about.

I know from experience that Ireland has a two-pronged socket, not three-pronged. You’ll need to get an adaptor - I’d recommend the small kind that goes into the socket, and then has the three holes for our plugs on it; you stick your plug to the adaptor and then stick the adaptor into the wall. I’m not sure about the other countries.

What the hell are you talking about?

all you need to do is buy a $5 converter.
