Convince My Friend He's Got A Shot!

Hey all. I’ve already applied to MSU, but I’m trying to convince my friend he should apply, despite his sub-par stats. I dunno much about his ECs or courses, but here’s what he’s working with that I do know:

GPA: 3.25
ACT: 22
Course Load: Some AP classes, I forget what ones or scores. I know it’s more than two, though.

ECs:
4 years in the High School musical, 1 year with a lead role (and he’ll probably get one this year, too.)

3 years Varsity Tennis, 1 year JV

Show Choir (elite choir at my school) 4 years, State honors each year

MSVMA Regional Honors Choir Member

He’s also in-state, so that’s a plus, too. Anyone besides me think he should apply, regardless of what he thinks? He wants to major in Theater/Acting, and he’s only applied to DePaul as of now.

He should apply, he has a shot of getting in. Not an extremely high one but it wouldn’t surprise me if he got in. I would say he needs to apply NOW though because the longer he waits the harder it is.

Also, we have a really good theater program here lol.

romanigypsyeyes, you beat me to it. i was very impressed with the theatre program when i visited! the faculty was incredibly nice and seemed to really care about the department growing.

Oh side note: if your friend doesn’t get into MSU, Wayne State has an excellent theater program. Western’s program is good too. Good luck to him!
