Convincing my parents?

Just as my parents allowed me to apply this year again for boarding school, they decided to change their minds, and not allow me to apply. Originally, between my parents and I, we agreed to see whether my new private school would be challenging for me, and then allow me to apply starting in November or December. However, now they claim that applying again would be a waste of time, and I wouldn’t be going to apply anyway.

Does anyone have suggestions about what to do now?

Do you make a thread for every little question you have?

Maturely break it down to them why they should consider that it would be beneficial for you to go to Boarding School over the school you already attend. Make sure that they understand that it means a lot to you. Also ask them about their objections and just try to talk it out with them. If you handle it maturely then they should respect you as such.

You got full FA at the day school, right? I guess I’m with your parents…I’m not sure why you’d go through the bother and expense of applying to boarding school again. You haven’t even started at your new school–why leave it behind already?

Well I never needed FA, but I also went to a private school before. My parents wouldn’t even think of letting me apply until another parent said to my mother that I was right, my grade had some pretty terrible kids in it (many children, not me as much, were victims of systematic bullying). So in mid-november, I started applying to boarding school. And I ended up getting into the school of my dreams.

Try out your new school, and if you still want to apply to boarding school, hen maturely bring it up to your parents. Scrape up the facts and explain why you are interested in the schools that you want to apply to.
