cool list that puts the world of admissions in perspective

I find this list fun and informative
harvard is easier to get into than a few surprising places!

I can’t really believe the Secret Service statistic, but otherwise, that was great!

It would appear from the events of the last few years that the Secret Service needs to hire a new Admissions Director! B-)

That’s a low blow.

walmart can pay so little because the number of applicants is so high. I would not work in walmart. (target I would…however I am sure that working at Target is not all happiness and joy) interestingly the closest supermarket to my house seems to have the same employees forever, where as the target seems to have new people every time I go.

“walmart can pay so little because the number of applicants is so high.”

  • When I was unemployed, which happened 9 times, I was ready to work for anybody who would be kind enough to hire me. This strategy led me eventually to the best job that I have ever had.

In regard to pay, I would strongly consider that the medical residents, while working about 80 hours / week, receive less than what is considered at some places the minimum wage. I will disagree with anybody who believes that the work of MD is much easier and carry less responsibilities than the sales associate’s job in retail. I also do not think that any sales associate in retail ever work consecutive 30 hours. So, before anybody is comparing wages, I would consider including medical residents in their comparison analysis, it may put this analysis in real life prospective.

miamidap—residents are paying their “dues” and IMO it is wrong! I agree 100% they are pushed mentally and physically to the max ! it should change but, it probably will not. because every doctor before them had to do it. so who is going to force the issue?
