<p>Lol, so I’m writing a research paper right now, and I couldn’t remember my community college’s username. No worries, turns out, my UCLA ID and password actually got me into the system! My college professor is constantly complaining about the limited access that our college gets to Proquest, because we don’t pay enough (poor school?), but believe me, UCLA has GREAT access :D. </p>

<p>Here’s how you do it:

*Log in using your application ID and password for that school!</p>

<p>I guess this is only useful for as long as this transition period lasts, and I guess I’m really only excited about this because I haven’t SIRed yet :D. So this is a perk for the indecisive haha. Use a UC’s research stuff before you’re REALLY a student there! haha</p>

<p>Proquest is a Peer-Reviewed Journal source. Some teachers (like my current one) require that you include a few articles from this website (and others like it) in research papers, to make sure that we have some high quality opinions in our papers, I suppose. Proquest offers different levels of access to entire schools, based on how much money each school is paying them. According to my professors, my community college doesn’t pay very much, so we have limited access (meaning many times, we can read the abstract for an article, but we don’t have access to the full text). More prominent universities have better access, and they provide it to their students. </p>

<p>AHHH! I love ProQuest. I use it at my CCC now, but I’m so glad that we’re able to log in through UCLA! Thanks, Solidblu!</p>

<p>As soon as I signed up for summer classes at Berkeley a long time ago, I checked to see if I could do that. And with some fanagling I was able to access the Berkeley library article databases. FREAKEN AWESOME. I can never look up the articles I want to with my ccc’s library database (epsco host or some such thing).</p>

<p>You can also use JSTOR through UCLA by connecting with VPN.</p>
