Cool wedding announcement

in a South Carolina (!) newspaper:

<a href=“Self Serve Newspaper Celebrations Software | AdPortal Celebrations”>Self Serve Newspaper Celebrations Software | AdPortal Celebrations;

Love the line that said one of the newlyweds “is currently a Homemaker”.

I like that they both have degrees in English!

Interesting that they met while in the Army.

That is & I liked their best men :)

Me too on the best men!

There is an article about them in the Aug. 2 online issue of The Daily Mamaroneck.

Interesting that they give so much information about their parents. Is that a Southern thing? Around here it’s just: Brian, son of the late Jane and Joe Smith…

But wait…if they couldn’t ask…and they couldn’t tell…then how did they…?

But seriously, it’s encouraging to see such an announcement in South Carolina of all places.

I love it! Very sweet.

Thanks, MomCat2. This got a smile and an “aww…” Maybe this country is changing a little bit at a time.

Love it! Thank you for sharing.

Loved it! I went quite a ways into their Guest Book and was very touched and pleased to see not even one negative comment, just lots of love and blessings. What a great way to start my day!

Sylvan- the info about the parents is not just a regional, Southern tradition. The New York Times has lengthy descriptions of the parents’ employment and professional accomplishments in their wedding announcements section.

Word, I noticed that, too, and wondered whether they delete negative comments. I can’t believe there’s not one idiot out there who would post something.

The postings are reviewed for content before publishing.

Haven’t they done same sex marriage announcements in the NYTimes for years? Great to see this in SC.

Another cool one - this elderly couple wed after nearly 40 years together. This is a long piece in the “Vows” section of the NYT - not sure if I can link to it here, since it mentions legislation. Sooo - Google (or go to the NYT site and search) “Jacques Beaumont and Richard Townsend”.
Very touching story.
