You know those weird classes some colleges have, like ballroom dancing or Harry Potter? Does tech have anything cool like those? and how do you find them? bc the course catalog is not proving helpful…

Georgia Tech doesn’t mess around. For the most part, there are no “easy” classes. Pretty much everything is engineering related, even your electives. There are some enjoyable classes though, but these can be few and far between. For instance, I enjoyed RUSS 1001,1002,2001,2002 and MATH 4802. Those were my “cool” classes.

Don’t know about “cool” classes, but GT’s English classes have different themes. Last semester they offered a section of English 1102 that was just for computer science/computational media majors.

Every semester there’s a catalogue of extra classes you can take that are “cool” by your definition. You pay about $150 for 6-8 weeks to take a ballroom class, art class, etc.

Not too many, but many of my friends enjoyed the Science Fiction literature class when they had to take humanities.
By the way, an easier way to plan classes is CourseShark, Oscar is just difficult to use and visualize.
