I got into the Cooper Union program and was wondering if it would be would look good in the college application process if I attended this program?
Did it cost any money?
@portugueselover Not OP but the program costs $3,100.
I was also admitted to this program and am wondering the same thing. Besides that, though, has anyone done Summer STEM and is willing to share their experience?
The general consensus about expensive paid summer programs is they only show you have money.

It’s at least not extremely short, but is it worth spending $3000? Understand that expensive summer programs mostly do not matter in admissions and have much higher acceptance rates than most colleges. If you feel that you’ll get something out of the program and that $3000 is money your parents can comfortably spend (you’ll be applying to schools soon, that costs money too) then go ahead, but if you expect any more, then your time is better spent volunteering at museums or at a free program.
Thank you for you help!!!
It’s not worth it if it’s not residential. 3k for a program where you commute every day? Not worth it. If it were residential, it would cost around 6k, which is definitely not a good price for a five week program.
I can tell you it will have zero impact on eventually applying to Cooper Union. They give zero consideration for attending. But it may look good on your application for other schools. this is from personal expierence
