Anyone knows anything about Professor Copic? He’s teaching Econ 101 in Fall 2010 and I’m just deciding if I should take him.

A 10char

Yea I’m also taking COPIC for econ101 but I have no idea if he is a good professor or not…

If his 101 class is anything like it was last year…

It will most likely be the easiest A/A+ of your UCLA career.

A+++++ 10 char

Just made a CC account to jump in on this post.

I was also interested in taking Copic for Econ 101, but haven’t seen any BruinWalk/RMP reviews. I’m diggin’ the “easy A” responses on this thread so far, but does anyone care to elaborate? And before I even delve further, are there any pre-reqs for this class? I didn’t see any restricts but I know they can’t fit every detail into the course catalog. This’ll be my first quarter at UCLA but I’ll hopefully be coming in with a 4+ on the Micro AP test which satisfies Econ 1.

Also… I’m a casual CC browser but not down with all the slang. So for my noob initiation question, what’s char?

Econ 101 has a pre-req of Econ 11, which itself has pre-reqs of Econ 1 and Econ 2.

And does anyone have clarification for the Econ 11 Junior restriction? For bus-econ, the pre-major Econ requirements are 1, 2, 11, 41, and 101. The same “Restrict: Juniors only” is for Econ 41 also. But if 11 and 41 are pre-Bus-Econ reqs, how does that work out? Since pre-major reqs would mean they should be completed in freshman/sophomore years.

For reference, it’s on page 97 of the Fall 2010 course catalog.

Thanks Binks! Guess that means I’ll probably have to take Econ 2 with Sproul… any thoughts on him? On BruinWalk there’s a lot of mixed things. He has good reviews for his other Econ classes, but the few reviews about his Econ 2 are, for the most part, not so hot. And I don’t know if I can handle an 8 o’clock class after starting senior year at 9… are Econ 1/2 always so early in the morning?

so you guys are saying Copic’s class is an easy A… But I heard he is very unorganized and you basically have to study the book on your own…

I’m taking McDevitt’s Econ 11 now and I’m really liking his teaching style cuz people said study mcdevitt’s lectures and Study questions and i’ll be fine for his tests…

Is it the same for Copic? Do I study his lecture material and read the book? will he give any practice problems/homework that will hint what it will be like on the midterms and finals?

thanks.

bump~

anyone knows about copic?

what’s "A 10char " ?

theres a 10 character minimum to post on cc.

therefore when people just say “bump”, they must add a few more characters - hence 10char

no one has any opinion about copic?
