What is the best resource to compare colleges with open curriculum, core programs, distribution requirements, and interdisciplinary programs. D is put off by fully open curriculum and was intrigued by the Columbia Core model. But her interest in dance, humanities, and social sciences might be a good fit for an interdisciplinary program (like CMU?). But ballet avail is still the driver. GPA is up in the high 3.9 UW and PSAT is 1380 (750 of that on the reading/writing). TIA!
This might represent two different concepts. The fulfilment of diverse interests may require simply an opportunity to study across multiple fields (i.e., a flexible curriculum), while interdisciplinary suggests an approach to combining fields that may ordinarily exist separately (i.e., a permissive curriculum). These qualities can in some cases coexist.
