Core Curriculum

Hi, I am a junior looking into a number of universities and I was looking through the NU website and there wasn’t a straight clear cut answer on the whole required classes subject. I want to do Pre-Med but I also wanted to look into the Theatre Program. I was wondering if anyone knew what the core curriculum is at the College of Arts and Sciences. Thanks for the help

Hardly oppresive, seems very appropriate.

If you don’t feel like reading that: WCAS has a six-area distribution requirement (12 classes total, I believe you can fulfill half of two areas [two classes total] with APs), a two-year foreign language requirement (can be avoided or cut down with AP credit), and two one-quarter freshman seminars that build writing skills on top of other things.

The Theatre Program is in COMM which has completely different requirements.

Thanks guys

School of Communication requirements are very similar to those for WCAS, although math and science are combined, thereby cutting the number of courses necessary in those areas.

I was able to knock out about 1/3 of my distribution requirements with AP credits, though I believe that they have since put a reasonable cap on how much you can waive using the AP system (I graduated in '05).
