Eucalyptus2, I don’t know about the website but I know that Vandy’s pretty safe - it has a wall and gates on the main street side, and blue box telephones all over campus. I also saw a big Vandy Police presence when I was there visiting, and they were really helpful.

apparently i’m the first one who checked their email/decided to post- this is a first!
rejected :frowning: oh well. 200 people received cornelius/chancellor out of 3000 applicants, for those that want to know the stats. congrats to those who got one! does anyone know if they give out other scholarships later, or is this it?

To kungfufighting:
There are other merit scholarships besides the “signature” ones. Some have certain geographic requirements for eligibility. My D had to fill out the CV application in order to be considered for a Top Tenn Scholarship (we already knew her SAT scores were not good enough for CV). If your were either #1 or #2 in your class at the end of your junior year and are from Tennessee, you may be eligible for $10,000 or more per year. This is just one example of their other merit scholarships. They also have some kind of merit aid for residents of Houston as well.
Vanderbilt is better than some other schools, like WashU, with giving merit aid outside of the named scholarships. Now she is just hoping for an admit letter to Vandy!
