Oh, and has anyone on this thread (for those of you following the whole thing) actually applied Chemistry and Chemical Biology? That’s what i’m doing, and it seems like a rarer major…

Rowing requires you to waked up at 4 in the morning every Saturday. Chemistry is a very hard major anywhere, and i wouldn’t want my rowing to interfere with my studies.

No haha I was quoting you but I don’t know how to quote people in a forum (I’m relatively new to this). No one who has applied from my area has gotten an in person interview and I’ve only heard of one person from my school being called, is it a bad thing that I didn’t get called? I believe it was by the admissions office that the one girl was called and they said it was some sort of “surprise interview”…?

Disclaimer: rant ahead, no need to read
situation regarding the email requesting grades:

today I rushed to the counselor’s office first thing in the morning and filled out a request form to see my counselor.

I get the slip back 7th period and she says she has already faxed my grades there.

I’m not blaming her for anything, since she did what she was supposed to do, but ASDFASJDKLGASJDLAS. I just wanted to ask her not to submit our current marking period, since we barely have any grades in the gradebook for it (Like 1 or 2 for each class). SO MUCH FOR THAT.

i’m gonna be rejected for sure…

If Im accepted, Ive gotten into a great school Ive always wanted to go to and spend the next four years in the college environment I think is perfect for me. Ive laid the best foundation possible at eighteen for a secure future. I can relax a little, and enjoy the rest of the year.

If Im rejected, Ill be very upset. Life will go on, and Ive already gotten into a great school that I think Id be happy at too. But all the other schools on my EA/rolling list just arent Cornells. Could I have a secure future at my other schools? Absolutely! But the degrees just dont carry the weight of a Cornell education.

If Im deferred, Ill be almost as upset. Ill be flattered that they thought highly enough of my record to not reject me, but it will also put me in this state of cruise control and waiting that Ive been in for another four months (which is hellish), most likely for a rejection letter. If I got rejected, it would provide closure, and hopefully I could get excited about one of the schools that accepted me. But I like Cornell so much; if I got deferred, I would probably have to wait for the RD decision.

I wish I could be put in a barbiturate induced coma for the next 8 days.

i feel this is weird and somewhat of an obvious statement, but i just realized that cornell has probably made their admissions decision for all the ED- ers by now, unless they decide up to the decision date

It’s not funny how much time I’ve killed waiting and agonizing. So I’ve wasted most of my October waiting for my SAT scores, and now I’ve wasted most of my November waiting for a Cornell decision.
