Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

I really wonder if anyone applying to CALS here has chosen an alternative major?

I just found an interesting pattern. Cornell LOVES releasing decisions on Tuesdays. Pay attention to your emails.

I think fellas in this thread are quite awesome :blush: We all are gonna be Big Reds !!
@puncherkid Thanks for your amazing job on updating applicants’ list!
@eyo777 Feel like Cornell is giving you an extra time at least for finaid documents. I think the best way to check back is either to email them or call them… But as long as you have completed your application materials, you’ll be in a safe line I guess…!! :smiley:

Will CALS applicants receive their decisions earlier?
@tristenbmk12‌ Haha thank you!

@xs0857 You’re like a CIS inspector :joy:

So far I have been accepted to SUNY Binghamton, Geneseo, and ESF. Waitlisted at Bard.

Cornell is still my first choice though. This is so stressful!

@Heli824‌ I haven’t yet received any decisions from the universities I’m applying for. You know how that feels :frowning:

@heli824 Amazing that you have all those options. Cornell is the only school that I am applying for Lol If not I will just work at hotel as I have. Finger crossed :blush:

Hey guys please tell me if this is normal. When I log in all I see is my name and the college in applying to my major and term. I don’t see anywhere that shows my extra materials were received or processed. I’m freaking out. I haven’t gotten any email of missing docs either. What should I do? I mailed my supporting materials on March 10th. Help please!!

I somehow don’t really understand the logic how they could have not received my college report given that it was sent in the same envelope with my transcript (with the latter marked as received), but somehow they are asking me for a new copy of my college report to be sent over :confused:

@newbee18 It’s pretty late now so that could be a bit of a problem. Try to call in and see if they still have materials they haven’t processed yet? I gave in my midterm report and transfer college report pretty late and they were marked as received pretty soon after I had sent them.

i read that they sometimes forget to check it off. anyways in my case, it’s strange how they never received my academic evaluation when my other college stated that they received one

The decisions will be announced starting from early May.

@hitherebuddy I just called them and there was an automatic recording that stated that they were back logged in processing materials and once they are caught up they would send out emails to all whose materials have not been received. Therefore as of now we should not submit duplicate materials. I don’t know if I should still be worried or relaxed.

@newbee18‌ I think there’s no need to worry to much, for it’s possible that they’ve already received your materials. Even if they haven’t, you’ll still be provided with the opportunity to resend them. :-j What’s the major you’re applying for?

@badooki‌ How do you know that? Did you call the admissions?

@puncherkid okay I see. Thanks. I’m applying as a computer science major.

The CALS transfer page says admissions for this year are announced from April to May. I don’t think it will be delayed any more than last year because it’s probably dependent on when they finished freshman admissions more than anything. I think the delayed date is to just give people more time to get their paperwork together.

@newbee18‌ Computer Science at CAS or at CoE? Haha it’s so interesting that both colleges have such major

@newbee18 That’s what they told me when I called them a few weeks ago, that they were back logged with materials and they will send out missing-materials emails in mid-April. You would have a week since the email was sent out to get it to them.

So far I’ve been accepted to UMich and haven’t heard back from anywhere else, but Cornell seems to be the only other one I’m waiting for that’s getting me excited. I’m just really enthusiastic for long, cold winters. :smiley:

Hope everyone who hasn’t heard back from somewhere (and applied elsewhere) hears back soon.
