@newbee18 I called them under a week after their deadline had passed and that’s when they told me. I didn’t have a lot of my materials showing until a couple of days ago or so. Right now everything necessary has a check except my mid-term report, which I still have to send in.
Hey guys! I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if I have a chance to transfer into Cornell for Fall 2015?
Stats:
College: Emerson College
High School: #1 Public high school in the country at the time (magnet school for math, science and tech)
High School GPA: 4.0 W (my high school doesn’t show unweighted)
SATs: 2360 (R 800 W 790 M 770)
SAT IIs: Math II 770 US History 800 Lit 800
College GPA: 4.0
Mid-term GPA: 4.0
Extracurriculars: President of a Literary Magazine, copyeditor for another, graphic designer for a club for women in film, writer for a satirical newspaper/blog, member of a screenwriting club
Strengths: SATs/SAT IIs, professor recs (I think), college grades, maybe extracurriculars? Idk, reason for transferring, essays
Weaknesses: definitely high school grades (I’m a humanities person who was stuck at an advanced tech school-- terrible fit; but still, not good), intro courses
High School GPA: 4.0

Uhh… I don’t think you have anything to worry about haha, your stats are great! What school are you applying to?

@badooki I honestly highly doubt that you would be less competitive than me (but you certainly don’t have to disclose your stats!). I do have a “GT” though, which is pretty much all I have going for me at this point…

@MacchaBunny Thanks, and their aid is pretty generous for an OOS transfer like me, too. Will have to see if any of the privates I applied to can beat it, haha
Can someone add me to the AEM list? I applied for Cornell AEM. Non-traditional student here. So nervous, lol.
@Heli824 though i have a 4.0 weighted from high school, my grades were actually not very good (it’s very heavily weighted haha I took a lot of honors/ap classes). I’m applying to a couple ivies, northwestern, barnard, and UVA
@jaygoodiez High school stats mean very little to them, as long as you did well then I doubt they will make a decision based on your performance in high school. If your college stats are good then they don’t care, it could even be beneficial. I think they like students who have shown that they have improved academically from high school to college. Sorry, I should have been more specific, which school and major are you applying to at Cornell?

@jaygoodiez Oh nice! Yeah arts & science is always tough to get into, but I don’t think your stats are any worse than any other applicant. Good luck!
