Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

Can anyone link the forgot my pin webpage? I’m not seeing it on my application self service

Stop worrying so much, and 5/6 reject in both 2014 and 2013 is normal. Thats about a 17% acceptance rate, and according to google, in 2014 cornells acceptance rate was 14%. So statistically 4/21 has a higher acceptance rate than what the overall acceptance rate is.

@silviaguy240 I would say that Bigfuture and Commoon Data Set are far more reliable than google. Both of them show that last year’s acceptance rate was 19% (773/3880).
@Heli824 Nope…

The transfer acceptance rate for CALS is 47% from 2011. However, AEM is much more competitive with from what im guessing is a 20% acceptance rate for transfers. It seems the acceptance rate for the smaller majors is much higher overall.

@Heli824 Do you know the rate for communication major?

I don’t want to give up, I really don’t…

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for engineering transfers? I applied to the Computer Science major and was wondering if it had a higher or lower acceptance rate than other colleges

Here,

@silviaguy240 Maybe you can refer to the Transfers Admissions Statistics in 2011:
https://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000156.pdf
It’s just that the rates of 2011 could be higher than this year’s.

Link to the forgot my pin page pls?

Just called engineering admissions department. Their reply was – yes the decisions will start coming out next week on a rolling basis. I particularly inquired about “the pattern” that people seem to be paranoid about, and the staff assured that there is NO such a pattern. So be more relieved guys! The fact that you are checking this thread regularly already evinces your passion and qualification as an applicant. So stop reprimanding yourself!

Also, the staff said that my decision portal is NOT accurate. So even if it says that the decision will be posted on 4/21, it could be postponed at any time.

Hope this helps!

Let us know your results @gifuto12 ; I think it’s also wise to notice that someone submitted their info a week before the deadline…but they were admitted already (non-GT) and this is rolling admissions…Interesting, no?

The College of Engineering acceptance rate is typically between five and eight percent, according to http://www.engineering.cornell.edu/admissions/undergraduate/faqs.cfm#Transfer_Applicants_FAQ . Computer Science, being a fairly over-enrolled major, is probably a little lower than that.

lol 4/21 too

Welcome to the club @silviaguy240 You as scared as I am?

@BluLegagy - I get that you’re nervous, but a lot of other people on this thread are presumably hearing back on the 21st, and your insistence that every decision on that day will be a rejection is unnecessarily negative for everyone involved.

Good luck to those still waiting to hear back!

Honestly just relax. Your date is 4/21. It might get changed; it might not. But it’s out of your control. If they say it’s random, it most likely is. I’d just let your decision date come. Worrying out of your mind isn’t going to do anything but shift your focus away from your current commitments. Just focus on your current grades/commitments–they’re much more important at this point.

Not really, I knew when applying that this would be a reach school. I did poor in high school around (2.89 gpa) and terrible SAT subject scores (math II 600 and physics 570). After graduating from high school I had an idea that I wanted to go to school for computer sci but wasn’t positive so I decided to go to a local community college, which I still attend. I have been working my hardest to do well so I can transfer to a good school but ultimately I know that my high school performance and SAT scores will hold me back but I figured that applying wouldn’t hurt, stranger things have happened.

Here is my college transcript.

I have been accepted to RIT which was my goal school so even if I don’t get in here it’s not the end of the world.

I’m sorry guys…I guess for me this is like a really long shot because I can’t afford any schools (including the ones I got into)…so this is kind of my life at the moment. Even with an EFC of 0, I can’t come up with the financial aid at the schools that don’t meet 100% of need…

Cornell 2018/2019, let’s go!
