Checked and it says the pin for my email doesn’t exist (yet).
@rest of the engineering people
My application was just forwarded for review so it will most likely be a while before I hear back
How long do you guys think it will take for me to get my decision?
I am applying for mechE
Excellent SilviaGuy, where else did you apply?! Based on college alone, you have a decent shot for Cornell in general, but I can’t determine how good of a fit you’d be for a (CS major?)…the engineering/CS departments are extremely selective from what I’ve heard…
I figured the engineering department was one of the hardest to get into. I also applied to MIT(PTK members get college application fees waived so why not? lol), Northeastern, RIT(Accepted), and I can go to UConn as a guaranteed transfer if I wanted but it’s not the best school for CS so probably not. Also my letter of recommendation was from a teacher at my community college who is a Cornell grad. so I hope that helps a little bit.
Nothing wrong with shooting for the stars! Best of luck to you bro @silviaguy240 , let’s hope for the best!
Woooo CS transfers represent
I feel like this thread is just a cesspool of anxiety lol no offense to anyone but everything I’ve been reading has definitely been making me more worried than I was before lol
If it’s my faultl @jtranxferman , I apologize…I must say this is honestly a bonding experience though…this college admissions anxiety, we’re all in this together.
Well I haven’t got my pin yet so you havn’t affected me @BluLegacy . But I forgot about the selectiveness of engineering departments and computer science in particular so that was a reality check for me lol
Okay, good. I don’t want to be the source of anyone’s despair! We are all one team!
Same, it’s hard to find the balance between overconfidence and unparalleled terror. I feel like admission is mostly showing them what kind of person you are and why that kind of person belongs there over “well this guy has a GPA that’s 0.02 higher so he’s clearly the better choice”. We just need to be confident in the fact that we know who we are and that that person belongs in Ithaca.
AND WE NEED TO STOP SAYING “CHANCE ME”. Seriously, how could anyone know enough to give you that answer!?!?
The transeval site is not working for me. Is anyone experiencing the same problem?
edit: nvm, it is working now
I think people just ask for Chance Me’s because they’re scared and want some reassurance
Is there a transeval site for engineer? I only saw the link for AEM
Everyone should really cheer up. The average GPA of transfers at many top colleges is around like a 3.7-3.8 ish I believe, while many people can get accepted with lower. It all comes down to how much you really want it and I can see all of you really do. Don’t stress out so much! I’m sure you guys all had great essays with great reasons for wanting to be at Cornell. I can see that without even reading your essays. Have faith in yourself because I’m sure the admissions officers will be able to detect all of the passion going on here.
For those of you applying to ILR, I spoke with Ian today and he informed me that the admissions committee will meet for the FINAL time (which I assume means they’ve received and reviewed many if not all applications) early next week and that decisions will be released on April 22. Good luck!
Cheer up guys we are already having fun here on CC. I check it every time I open the Chrome
Eat some yogurt, have a vanilla ice cream cone, everything is cool then
Dear Cornell,
No matter what happens, we know you will either directly or indirectly help us with finding our way as we go through life. Thank you for playing one of the most important roles in it.

Has anybody applying to the college of human ecology heard back from the admission office?
@BluLegacy Oh come on dude lol
