Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

I don’t think it means anything but for polling purposes, I also cannot access

Does it give you guys any information aside from basic demographics? Like a possible Cornell E-mail or anything like that?

Just when I was feeling better again, another confirmation of what I had feared. If Cornell accepts me, you guys know I’ll probably have a heart attack.

They even added my home address

Blulegacy, calm down. Anyone can log in with their appID info as a guest. It means nothing.

Hi, I was accepted yesterday and I can’t access it. I wouldn’t think anything of it if you cant get on.

Oh nevermind, I didn’t to the guest thing. It works as a guest, but I do agree that this probably works for everybody and if it doesn’t work for you then its just a computer error.

Hey guys, I don’t know everyone’s situation, but this really really means a lot to me. I don’t have family or anyone to help me pay for school and I can’t afford any 4 year school coming out of CC at this point. So, this is really important to me. I don’t mean to stress you guys out.

You just need to calm down. Regardless of situation, making a huge deal about things isn’t doing anything for you. It doesn’t change your decision. As for the student center thing–people can sign in as guests. Consider what the word guest means–people who are not a part of the university at this point in time. your decision will be here in less than a week so just wait. The admissions process is not some conspiracy against anyone. And they aren’t just messing with you. Your decision will be out on 4/21 like you said–simply wait until then.

You’re right, sorry guys.

Student Center website also shows my address, so I am sure that it doesn’t mean anything.

@uuuuuuu I applied to the CHE and I have not heard back yet. Hang in there guys! The admission officers have to review so many applications! We will hear back at some point.

This discussion is so hyperactive compare to the other transfer threads lol

@BluLegacy Have you looked at some scholarships? There are a lot of scholarships for people who don’t have the means to pay for college, you should definitely spend some time researching it. I think you obviously have a lot of desire to finish at least 4 years and scholarship committees look for that.

Thank you @jtranxferman Yes, I’ve definitely looked at a lot of scholarships outside of institutional aid. Unfortunately, most I don’t qualify for due to any one of the following: age (I’m 26, first time college student), transfer; most of those real deal non-spam scholarships have an age limit, and the ones I do qualify for I’ll have to apply for now to receive next year because I was supposed to fill those out last semester apparently. I originally wasn’t planning on transferring after only two semester early but my living situation kindve forced it.

Why do you apply to Brown? Their transfer admissions is need-aware not need-blind.

Yeah they are, which I find kind of appalling and surprising for such a progressive school

@BluLegacy Does your state university not cover tuition with financial aid?

@xs0857 I applied hoping that they might be interested in me, I figured I’d give it a shot as I was told I’m an excellent fit for that institution.

@jtranxferman My state does cover tuition but I would need room & board. And the gap is too much for me.

You don’t think you could handle it between subsidized loans and a part time job? I know some students who have to do that but they are able to make it. I just want to comfort you so this next week isn’t so horrific.
