It seems like my decision will be available on tuesday, and I remember last year manyyyyyyyyyyy people got rejected on this day. Did anyone actually get in on that day? For me it seems like you are getting rejected if you are hearing on 4/21…)-:
Oh also, I applied to CAS for mathematics.
Stats…nothing super special but:
Oregon State Univ.
Math major/ actuarial sci minor
3.86 gpa (89 ish credits- though we do trimester, so it;s like 60 credits actually for semester schools, major gpa 3.95.)
A’s on all math courses except one B-.
Highest math course taken: Advanced calculus(proof class)/ Linear Alebra.
home schooled( got GED / never took SAT/ACT)
First generation/ low income family/
working as a Resident Assistant on campus
worked as a full time math substitute in a public school district
lots of volunteering experiences(all involving math somehow)
REALLY personal/nice recommendations from math instructors who’ve taught me more than one course
uh, this is pretty much it. I applied to Grinnell, Vandy, Emory, and Notre Dame also.
From a previous poster that called the admissions office: “Just called engineering admissions department. Their reply was – yes the decisions will start coming out next week on a rolling basis. I particularly inquired about “the pattern” that people seem to be paranoid about, and the staff assured that there is NO such a pattern.”
There is no pattern, the sample size from last year was too small and it happened just by chance so you all can relax and just be happy you’re getting your decision soon.
Hi everyone. I’m applying Arts and Sciences. My application was finally updated to “Sent for review” on Friday. How soon afterwards did people receive their pins and where should I be looking out for it (as in, email vs. on portal)?
@marianna0725 I think there’s really no accurate prediction. Lots of folks got rejected in the first week last year, but this year most got in. I am a math major and I’ve not heard back yet. Good luck!
anyone’s decision is viewable tmr? I’m applying for Engineering (where applicants usually get their decisions late) but it says my decision is viewable tomorrow, which makes me super nervous…
@timidnotion I actually got my transeval page updated two weeks after my application was sent for review. I still can’t access my pin though, so I’m getting a little worried…
I wouldn’t worry @transferfall2015 . Someone already asked an admissions officer and they stated that there was no pattern on time of decision release and what hte decision is. Just be happy you get to see it tomorrow!
I never got the E-mail saying that our pins and decisions will be available tomorrow although I saw it manually. Will the school still email us that “check your decision” email?
@hitherebuddy How do you know that your application was sent for review? and transeval page? Is it on your application status? Idk Im not seeing anything on mine… and if you get transeval page,doesnt that pretty much mean you are in??
@marianna0725 at the bottom of the checklist its says “something something blah your application has been forwarded to admissions for review”…something around those lines cant remember word for word.
