@TracyTC mine was probably sent in for review yesterday, or the day before that too. Admissions could not find my college transcripts, which I sent as a PDF through the carrier/program that my school support, and I got an email saying that Cornell had received it on March 20. So I ended up having to send a new one, paying 28 dollars to make sure it arrived within a day, lol! Like I’m not stressed enough, of course something had to go wrong!
yes its stressful, but i guess they must have a lot of stuff to process so its understandable. anyway fingers crossed for all of us:)
Just sent in my midterm report.
I tried calling them earlier today but they don’t answer the phone for transfers. The voice message says they are going through a lot of materials, so I think it might take a bit of time for some of us.
Oh… I just checked my application status. It still says the midterm report is missing, but my application has been sent for review. Interesting.
@Coriander23 Does the acceptance package also include the financial aid package, or does that come later?
Come to think of it, I applied late in the cycle. I don’t think my application was in until like a week before Feb 15th. My transeval isn’t updated and I still can’t generate a PIN. Maybe it has to do with timing. We’ll see!
@eyo777 I have the same situation but I sent my mid-term report 2 days ago
For all of you who sent mid-term report late - I used Cornell email but I also wrote to a person who helps poeple with different things (it was Ian for those applying to ILR) and I sent him a copy of my mid-term report and he responded to my email 2 hours later. My file was completed faster because of that. Might be helpful.
Location/ Residency: Out of State
Major: ILR (I am not trying to “sneak into” Cornell. ILR is really the school that interested me the most. I am not sure how well I expressed my “fit” but I do think I fit.)
GPA: 3.70 CC (may get higher after this Spring)/// low for Cornell, but it is higher than most at CC
Transfer level: Junior
Demo/ Hooks: Filipino, 1st generation college student, lower middle class
ILR recommended Gen. Ed.:
[IP]2 College English courses/// I could have sworn a diff. pdf that I reviewed months ago said English composition + college level speech (in that case, I would have A’s in both)
[X] Two Economics courses
[X] Math///
[IP] Science+ Tech (lists chemistry, biology, etc.)/// I have taken a class similar to evolution and received an A but am currently enrolled in a physical science with lab just in case
[ X] Western Intellectual
[X] ILR elective
Major Courses: (look above)
Work: Part- time
EC: lots of volunteer work with low- income programs, business club, run my own website, + major family responsibilities (EC’S I did not include on my app due to not having substantial hours completed, but mentioned in my essay-- hospital volunteer work and local elections)
Paperwork: everything except my midterm report was received last week. I will be physically mailings mine today but emailed yesterday. I took the SAT many years ago, not too stellar, but it’s about $50+ $30 for timely shipping to send it since it’s been archived for a while… Should I send it anyway?[[HELP!!!]]ILR doesn’t require SAT scores though.
Evaluations: 2 received (1 was submitted the “16th” because of the time difference)
Essay: common app essay (8/10) and supplement for transfer (7/10)
Other Schools applied:
Accepted: UCLA, UCSD, CSUF
Rejected: Cal Poly Slo
Pending: UCI, Cal, + Cornell
Anyone have any estimates of how long it took for your decision to be determined after the submission of all material ?
I’ve had all my stuff in since early March and haven’t heard back so it’s not really dependent on the time that they receive your materials
It depends on how competitive we are. I think the most/least competitive applicants get their decisions first.
I know from past years that the last week of April was when most of the engineering rejections were sent out
Do you have any insight for those applying to CAS and the time most rejections were sent out?
Many people were rejected on 4/22 last year.
If I still can’t locate my pin, does it imply that I most likely won’t receive decision on this Tuesday?
Exactly, but people are in denial that 4/21, 4/22 has nothing to do with rejections. My guess is that most competitive go out first, then least competitive; then everybody in between.
So, if we’ll be rejected after 4/22 it means that we were at least competitive.
@BluLegacy thank you for your response! And I didn’t imply that someone who will hear on 4/21 will be a reject. I just wanted to known when I will hear back from Cornell. This waiting is agonizing. I have so many things coming up due, all at once, and instead of working on that, I’m sitting and clicking “forgot my PIN” lol
I don’t think you all should make any correlations on decision dates, the admissions officer already said there are none so mind as well just not think anything of it and be happy that your decision is soon. Truthfully, I’m jealous I don’t have a pin yet haha
I’m a GT for ILR. I got the call from Ian a week or so ago and I got my official letter recently. I may be looking for a roommate. Here is some info about what I’m looking for:
I’m an ILR major interested in social sciences, econ, gov, etc but I also like some STEM and arts stuff.
I like playing video, board, card, and tabletop games. I tend to mostly play games like WoW and DoTA, but I like to mix it up every once in a while. I also have some physical games like Cards Against Humanity and DnD, but I rarely get to play them at my current school due to the dorming situation. I also sometimes like artsy stuff like plays or weird movies. A similarly nerdy roommate who would want to play games and chat about stuff like games, movies, TV, and some intellectual topics would be a plus.
Most importantly, I need my room to be conducive to my education. So I need a roommate who doesn’t have an outrageous sleep schedule (I tend to go to bed between 12-1am, but sometimes if I have a test I may go to bed a bit sooner.) and can be quiet if I need to get homework done or study. I’m also not a party person. I don’t like drugs, alcohol, smoking, or really loud music. (although I’m ok with some music if I’m not trying to concentrate on something)
If you might want to room with me, send me a PM or leave a reply and we’ll discuss the matter further.
Does anyone know if financial aid packages come at the same time as the admissions decision? Thanks.
