Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

@eve1204 be positive I don’t believe cornell would reject you just because your app got completed late. try to be optimistic!

You guys are fine! Transfer decisions can go all the way up until June! Do not be discouraged! You guys are in a better boat than I am apparently.

@BluLegacy @newbee18 you’re right, we should stay positive. We haven’t received decisions yet, so we shouldn’t worry

@eve1204 My decision comes on 4/21 and I applied to a major that historically has a trend of transfer evaluation pages udpdated right before the decision date. Yesterday, a few more pages out the group have been updated and mine is still blank. I’m in a different state, but have already mentally prepared for the worst. What hurts me though is I reached out to admissions in an E-mail and they didn’t respond back to me. :frowning:

@eve1204 Those all seem to be freshmen who didn’t tweet it earlier along with folks accepted to the vet or graduate school. I feel like people accepted as transfers would have the word “transfer” in the tweet. At least that’s what I would do. Like, “accepted as a transfer to Cornell!” etc

@BluLegacy don’t worry. They must be extremely busy now. maybe they need to update your application. Give them some time.

@BluLegacy they do not always reply to your email, but I think they do read it. I sent an email about my transcript and the next day it was marked as received in the system even though they did not reply.

Engineers are usually one of the last people to receive their decisions. If you check earlier threads, you’ll see most of them hear back mid-May or later.

And admissions didn’t get back to me either when I inquired about my application status a couple days ago. CALS has historically been good about this kind of stuff, so they’re probably pretty swamped at the moment. It’s not supposed to reflect on you personally.

Oh okay, that’s definitely good to know. If I don’t get in, I’m going to talk to my landlord about possibly seeing if he’ll let me say because it was assumed that I’d be moving out in August.

@BluLegacy Don’t fret. There’s literary nothing you can do but just wait till 4/21 to see if your decision is ready. If they used the trans page to alert acceptance, then I don’t think they’d go through the trouble of assigning decision dates. They could have just said trans page tells decision so stop fretting over your page not updating. The only way you can know your actual decision accept/reject is to wait until Cornell explicitly says so. Don’t rely on the trans page because it will just keep stressing you out.

has anyone applied to cas and heard anything yet? i feel like everyone applied to cals…

@TracyTC I have applied to cas economics, nothing yet

it seems my materials were just sent for review the day b4 yday… i feel like its really late…

@TracyTC Did you send them all the materials pretty late?

not really i sent them in pretty early but they didnt receive them…

Just received my official acceptance package in the mail  It was very tastefully done and definitely made me excited about attending. Hope you guys hear back soon!!

@Coriander23 Congratulations again!!! All of your hard work and dedication paid off haha

Quick question:

I’m about to scan and email my midterm report (I called them prior and they said I could do that). There’s a section at the top for “Current College or University” which is pretty self-explanatory. Then a line under that which says “Institution / CEEB.” What exactly do I write here? Would I write the same name of my current uni, slash, the four digit CEEB at the top right of the page?

I’m getting this in so late, lol. I can sympathize with TracyTC, might affect me negatively.

Congrats to everyone who already got in! =D>

yes I actually sent it very early but for some reason it never showed up so I had to resend it…congratulations to those of u on getting ur admissions pkgs!

It’s rather terrifying that it’s already almost the end of April
