Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

@puncherkid if that happens, then at least we all know that the decision portal isn’t very liable! But until then, let’s remain hopeful!

@Nicedaysomewhere yes, some applicants will be receiving their decisions at 12am!

@sullen09 Yes. These decisions like the World Cup again. I applied as well, but never really looked into this until now. I’m applying to CALS’ AEM. I didn’t look through other posts, but I’m assuming lots of people are applying there.

@Nicedaysomewhere yes, there’s a good amount of AEM applicants on the forum. So you’re not alone on this!

So I might get my decision at midnight, but I don’t want to look on it. I just want to go to bed relaxed and just check it tomorrow morning at work lol

Is it possible that people who went to the applyyourself site and couldn’t access their pin still get a decision at midnight or tomorrow morning?

@loodik1 I think that’s a good choice.

@puncherkid I am not sure though how feasible my idea is in the reality

Unlikely…decisions are still rolling from now until June. You’ll be fine @YonceKnowles …moreover, the college will E-mail you anyway once your decision is available for viewing.

I’m just confused about the “rolling” aspect since everything was in by mid March and there are people who got accepted already that put in midterm reports and stuff like 2 weeks ago

@YonceKnowles , the college isn’t entirely forthcoming (naturally) with how their process really works. Last week I did some research and it sounds like most competitive applicants were notified first, least competitive the following week and the more intensely scrutinized apps followed throughout the month of May.

Just kidding guys, I probably won’t be able to sleep until i see the result lol

i really wish to view my result but it is still not available…hmmmmm…

Joining the bandwagon a tad (very) late here, but I’m a communication applicant for Cornell currently at a community college.

Current stats:
I will be earning my two year degree in one year (7 classes every semester, two winter minis, summer classes and brought in some APs.)
GPA: 4.0 for every course taken in college, but I took two classes in highschool that went into my GPA (so total GPA is 3.82)
Essay: Talked about incorporating social change (and the importance of com) in business, essay reviewed by my sister and her friends at college (Harvard). Hopefully that will help.

In PTK
Work part time during the year in I.T. (Full time for the last 5 years during the summer).
Lots of volunteer and community service too.

Honestly just wondering when communication majors will hear, no luck with the PIN tool or Trans Eval.

Good luck to everyone, you all deserve a wonderful opportunity.

@Collegeyadayada Hi I’m applying as a communication major too! Are you currently studying in New York State?

I applied to CAS, and Ill also find out tomorrow 10am.

I have a strong feeling i am getting rejected seeing all the accepted applicants, but I tried /:

Im going to Oregon State univ, with about 60ish credits.
Been working almost full time since 16 to support my family and have reflected it enough on my essays.
Have really personal/nice recommendation letters from my math professors.(3 of them + my supervisor)
Working as a Resident Assistant on campus dorms.
My overall GPA is 3.86, and major GPA is 3.95 ish.

major courses taken so far:
calculus sequences (including vector calc)
ordinary differential equation
linear algebra
discrete mathematics
advanced calculus(proof based)
probability / statistic

I thought my stats were strong, but now im seeing stats of accepted people… sigh

@puncherkid Yes! Upstate New York to be exact!

@Collegeyadayada Cool! Does the college you’re currently in have agreements with Cornell?

53 min until the decision release !! having mixed feeling of nervousness and excitement

@marianna0725 Don’t sign yet! I am a math major and still have no clue when to hear back yet. Also, a sophomore transfer with ODE, Multi and Linear taken already is pretty strong.
