Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

@transferjay I know what you mean. Everyone on this thread seems to be getting calls and I’m still waiting. I’m feeling more hopeless by the minute :frowning:

@transferjay I feel the same way.

Does anybody know about the decision coming from the Hotel School? I am a bit worried… Apparently there are less information than other dept. here in this thread and I haven’t heard anything from the school…

@Heli824 Awesome! My friend got her acceptance email for plant sciences on Tuesday, and I’ve been nervous since! It’s cool if I don’t get in, but I just want to know!

If I get rejected, can I apply for Spring 2016? And does human ecology have a higher acceptance rate than CAS?

Any CALS applicants heard anything? Trans eval? PIN?

@justTryIt No pin, no trans eval either. My application was sent for review 3 weeks ago? (Communications) Are we under the impression for CALS that no news is good news?

Wish I knew this Ian guy, he really knows how to hook people up

@Collegeyadayada Well, based on previous years’ activity, and what we’ve seen so far, it seems like there’s an initial round of ‘definitely yes’, followed by a round of ‘definitely no’, then a lot of acceptances trickling in. Based on previous years threads, it seems like most of the denials are in AEM, Comm, and BIO. CollegeConfidential is hardly a good basis for a representative sample though, so who knows. I see you’re at a CC in Upstate NY; me too! Your stats look pretty good. As long as you had a decent essay and good recs, I would think you’d get in. Btw, all my stuff was in by mid-march, sent for review about a month ago.

@justTryIt I’d agree, it is for sure hard to speculate based on such a small sample size. However we’ve made it this far, so I’m feeling somewhat optimistic for us (despite the minuscule acceptance rate). I felt like my essay was as strong as could be and I did the best academically I could do, so, what happen, happens  And even if I get rejected, then I’ll just go to Binghamton and have my entire B.A. finished in 2.5-3 years (cumulatively) so I can’t complain. The thing that really astounds me about this fourm, is just how accomplished everyone seems to be. I feel like everyone here has worked so hard and done so well. I’m quite happy to just be considered an applicant with you guys.

P.S. I think they admit like 66 Community College applicants to CALS each year, so I’m routing for you!

@Moooon that’s awesome, I wish you the best of luck! I’m going to be honest my application wasn’t complete until early April (paperwork mailing complications) but my intended major is a double major in philosophy and intentional studies with a minor in German. Hbu?

@Collegeyadayada I feel the same way. Cornell attracts really impressive applicants. I’m actually glad I’m in a major almost nobody else is in (math) because it means I can’t make the mistake of getting anxious comparing myself to such strong students.

@AGrizzlyBear nice! That makes me a little nervous haha. Would you mind sharing her extracurricular activities if you know them? I would love to hear her stats.

@UniversalSnip Oh god, I don’t know how you math majors do it. I dread the thought of even Calc 1, let alone 2,3, ect. Math majors scare me with how well you guys can grasp that stuff, like I’d be happy to get a D in those classes LOL.

@justTryIt No transfer eval or pin for me either. I figured it was finally time to join the conversation!

@TransferMeInCALS Glad to know we’re not the only ones! What major did you apply for?

@Collegeyadayada I 've applied for Biological Engineering! I guess it’s just a longer waiting game for us haha

Does anyone know how long it takes from getting an e-mail about your decision to actually being able to see it?

Just a general inquiry for engineering, didn’t actually hear anything yet. I’m hoping I don’t hear anything until finals are over so I can actually sleep.

@Collegeyadayada Just curious, where did you get the 66 CC applicants/year figure? I thought I had already looked up every statistic possible, but I must’ve missed one lol!

Mine was complete on Mar 3rd. This whole waiting game is killing me. I intend to major in architecture. Best luck! @plannedtransfer5
