Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

@Francesanna Hope you are not. Same situation here.

The fact that some people receive decisions at 10:00 and some receive at 9:55 really bugs me. Feels like one is being rejected and the other is being accepted.

Any engineers hearing back tomorrow?

Good Luck to everyone getting their decisions tomorrow!

ILR applicants/those accepted on the phone already, does it say you are receiving a decision tomorrow when you try to reset your PIN through the portal?

It seems like quite a few of the remaining 6 of us who haven’t been accepted yet are receiving decisions tomorrow (eve1204, transferjay, mechaas), along with folks like HIMYM17 who has already been accepted via telephone. However, my PIN still cannot be found when I enter my email in “Forgotten Password”, which means at least according to the system I am not receiving a decision tomorrow. I think this could be a glitch or problem with my email address because most people have seemed to believe all ILR decisions are coming out at once this year. My materials have also been in at least two weeks longer than eve1204s, which makes me question if the portals accurate.

I have two tests tomorrow, so I want to be mentally prepared if the decisions actually coming tomorrow.

@ivyleaguefan I am also CAS. If you go back a few pages, there are others getting decisions tomorrow who are CAS too.

When I did the “Forgot email”, I was able to get a PIN and was able to successfully reset my password. But when I log in, it says that either my PIN or password is incorrect. Does this happen to anyone else?

For those who have applied for ILR:

Going by previous years thread, and acceptances for this year, is it safe to say that those of us who did not receive a call from Ian are most likely denied? I have not seen any ILR transfer wait list, if any. Im extremely anxious at this point…

@transfer6007 If everything is true, an impending rejection could be the case. If there’s a waitlist or a deferral to the Spring semester, that would make my day at this point!. But it’s always good to prepare for the worst.

I’m getting my decision tomorrow morning according to the portal, and I’m missing two suggested courses and got my transcript in late, so personally, I am keeping expectations low low low. But it isn’t over until it’s over! Maybe Ian will call before the decision? (Overly optimistic? Probably.)

@transfer6007 Are you getting your decision tomorrow, were you able to view what time you were getting decision via the portal?

A deferral would make my year at this point. I have mentally prepared for the worst, seeing that a majority of the ILR applicants here have already been called personally by Ian. Im not sure if he did that for every single ILR transfer (not sure the average accepted transfers) but it would seem to be quite a few to cover.

Im also getting my decision tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed.

I still haven’t gotten my pin. I can’t wait that much longer for a decision, my Michigan deposit is due May 1st D:

@jackdub32 I also got that message when I tried that “applyyourself” or whatever link the first time around last week, but it worked today. I got my reset pin, which I had never previously received to my knowledge. I’d say just try again tomorrow morning. If not, maybe they’re still reviewing your app.
According to @transfer6007 , those getting decisions tomorrow might get rejected because they did not get a phone call. So maybe you lucked out.
As for my fellow ILR applicants that didn’t get a call, I don’t remember ever putting down my phone number unless it was required. I just checked on the Cornell page that lets you see what materials you have submitted/ what your application status is and my number is not listed on the contact information either. Is your phone number usually there or do any of you remember giving it out?

EXPECTING THE WORST, HOPING FOR THE BEST.

@YonceKnowles call them

@jackdub32 @transferjay That is just an assumption from the looks of this thread and last years thread, but anything can be possible. Another factor to consider maybe the ones he contacted, are the ones that have had a steady contact with him, as opposed to those who just submitted and never followed up? There seems like an endless amount of possibilities. :((

@transfer6007 I really have no clue! I’m hoping we are accepted, but the acceptance phone calls have trickled down. My phone number is on my common app, but not on the Cornell contact page. Oh well, less than 24 hours until I find out!

Well, they definitely have my number. I called Ian before submitting my application to ask about the courses, if I should even apply considering I’m missing Stat’s and my midterm report. And I called a few more times when my transcript disappeared. So… I don’t think that’s a possibility.

Oh yeah, and there’s something like a 40% transfer rate, but ILR is one of the colleges that favors NY applicants because of its funding, isn’t it?

@UniversalSnip I’m applying to CAS so I don’t think they’d have an answer for me if I called them. I only think calling is for ILR kids

Crap so does no pin number message (I clicked forgot pin number and it told me that I don’t have one) = rejected?

@MizuRue No, it just means your decision isn’t ready

Oh okay…
Do you really think that they’re coming in acceptance and rejection batches? O.o
