I’m applyinh to the College of Architecture, Art and Planning. Anyone else applying to this college? @puncherkid Can transfer applicant choose an alternative major? Why didn’t I see this option?
i believe only certain colleges allow an alt major
@Moooon Yeah, I think CALS provides applicants with the opportunity to have an alternative major. What’s the major you’re applying for, by the way? 
@MacchaBunny If you think that you have a pretty good shot at getting in, maybe waiting until you hear is a better option, and then switching your major once you’re accepted. It might be better than trying to change it this late.
@CALSbound @MacchaBunny A lot of departments have specific rules against transfer students switching their majors. I know AEM is a firm “no” in that regard, and I’m pretty sure others as well.
Do people know the acceptance rate for engineering?
And how do they feel towards intl students?

@lolomgwtg Hmmm hard to tell. Given the number of applicants, I assume stats only go so far. I’m guessing they want to see the whole picture and who each person really is. On the engineering transfer page, they said the two main factors they look at are the courses you took in college and how your curriculum is similar to theirs, as well as the grades you got in those courses.
PS. Haha I have very similar stats with you (3.9 GPA and 1460 CR+M). Applying as junior transfer for ECE

I sent in my IDOC materials and received an email from college board saying my materials have been submitted to the colleges I’ve applied to, but for some reason I still have items on my to do list for financial aid when I check my status.
(All my application materials were received and sent in for review on 4/2). :::fingers crossed:::

-Applying to CAPS at CAS
-First year with a 4.0 first semester (18 credits including a higher level Chinese class and an Arabic class) and a 4.0 midterm report (with two 4000 level classes)
-57 completed credits as of now, and 71 will be completed by the end of this semester
-31 ACT
-3.8 HS gpa/4.0 college gpa
-Was selected to be in NSLI-Y program by the government this past summer in Sichuan, China for two months. (It’s an intensive language immersion program in which kids go overseas to live with a host family and learn a critical language).
