Hey @Coriander23‌ speaking of names-- you do know that your picture is of cilantro not coriander?! Good think we’re for Animal Science and not plant science, lol!! :slight_smile:

@CALSbound‌
Haha nice catch. I thought they were going to be applying to Plant Science because of their photo.

I really hope CALS is more lenient with crappy high school grades for the small majors like Animal and Plant Science. I go to a community college that has a course agreement with Cornell. I have a 4.0 GPA and a 3.95 on my midterm report including all the prerequisites and recommended classes for the Plant Science major . I have good recommendations from teachers, including a Cornell CALS alum. I have really good ECs related to plant science, including a nursery located in Ithaca that has ties to Cornell. Plus my father and stepmother work/have worked for Cornell. I just really hope they can look past my absolute trash HS GPA. At least I got accepted to SUNY ESF today.

@Heli824‌ Congrats! And based on your stats, I think you have a nice shot at Cornell!

@puncherkid‌ Thanks :slight_smile:

My stats still pale in comparison to yours.

@Heli824‌ I think the fact that I’ve already transferred once hurts my application a lot… Plus I take all the required courses in this semester, so I am totally unsure whether Cornell will even consider me. :neutral_face:

@puncherkid‌
I think your stats are pretty good but communications is a little more competitive. I have no idea whether the fact that you already transferred will weigh negatively on your application. The way I see it is that you worked your way to the top, with Cornell being your end goal (Hopefully you implied that in your essay). I am taking several of the required courses this semester as well, if your midterm is good then I don’t think it will be super detrimental but I could see it as a slight negative. Honestly, this is purely speculative because i’m not a member of Cornell Admissions :wink: Anyways, good luck! Im sure you stand a good chance of being accepted.
Honestly I think your biggest negative is that your an international student, from what I have seen they are a little more selective with international kids. But again, entirely speculative.

@Heli824 Thank you so much! Wish you good luck too!

My application doesn’t say it has been sent for review yet… Anyone else having that issue?

@cassat‌ Just want to make sure you’re looking in the right place, cause it’s really hard to see. It’s at the bottom of the page, under the test scores, in a little box.

@puncherkid - Not yet!! :frowning: They’re saying it’s going to be at least another week…

@CALSbound - Haha, coriander is cilantro! Cilantro is just coriander in Spanish. But I agree, I think Animal Science is a better fit :stuck_out_tongue:

@Coriander23‌ Lol! I guess that’s why I’m not Plant Science either. :>

I’d like to share my stats get comments as well :smile:
Thanks in advance.

Do I have a chance?

Ps. I’m an international from Turkey.

@Coriander23‌
Agh! This is exactly why I hate the common names of plants, there are so many! Haha

@Heli824‌
What’s worse is that one name is for the leaves of the plant, the other is for the seeds!!

( @Coriander23‌ I had to look to make sure!)

I’m beginning to get concerned, because I have like four different colleges listed on my transcript, even though I’ve only attended one (if you don’t count science courses taken at a CC in the summer). I took a lot of dual credit classes in HS.
