Cornell, baby. Chance it!

Hey y’all, y’all have probably seen my name and stats around somewhere, but I don’t wanna post on someones thread, so I just decided to make another one…

Current School: University of Houston
GPA: 4.0/4.0 with 45 hours/credits. (Will have around 58 hours/credits by the end of this fall term.)
Major: Business
Excellent essays and decent ECs and reccomendations

HS Rank: 213/620
HS GPA: 3.26/4.0
SAT: 1070/1600

I plan to apply to Cornell during the spring term. I was accepted for USC this fall, but defered my admission until spring so that I could apply to UVA and Cornell. My major is business, but i’ll be applying to CLAS as an American Studies or Undecided major and then do an internal transfer. I’m not too sure if you can apply as any major in CLAS or if it specifically has to be undecided.
Will Cornell consider my high school record heavily even though i’m near 60 units/hours for college? Do I have a shot at Cornell in the spring or is it too competitive in the spring? If anyone has any idea on UVA, let me know if I have a chance at that as well.

Lastly, does anyone know the admission rates for CLAS or other schools within either university?

Thanks for the time y’all.

USC is a pretty good admit with a 1070. No way at Cornell without a huge score jump.

That’s because they don’t consider your high school record if you have more than 30 college hours/units. Is it the same way with Cornell?

Quick question:

On the Cornell website it states:

"Transfer Students For all majors:

Students considering transfer to Cornell are required to complete a two-semester general biology sequence (Biology 1 and 2), including hands-on laboratories."

So even if I plan to major in business I HAVE to take biology 1 and 2?

It also says apply through CALS if you want to major in business. What freaking major would I apply to in CALS? Unless they have a pre-business or undecided major. Help?

Almost all the private schools require SATs for transfers. USC is weird because they compete with UCs for the better CC transfers.

Thanks collegekid, but try answering my question from above if you know.

Cornell CALS REQUIRES all students including transfers to take 2 semesters so keep that in mind

why can’t you apply to CALS with an undecided major?..
