Not even a game.

Even I, a Stanford alum, who had to find it streaming online because it’s not broadcast here…

couldn’t bear to keep watching.

I do like the outcome, though :D.

Not a surprise - an athletic scholarship school vs a no athletic scholarship school. Would have been very humiliating for Stanford to lose to any Ivy League school.

But how many C players are getting generous fin aid?

Yup. But every few years, Princeton really seems to make a go of it.

^^Or Penn. I think Penn has won the Ivy League something like 4 out of the last 5 years. Plus they even made it to the Final Four. Penn was the fourth team in the 1978 NCAA Final Four Tournament that featured Magic Johnson at Michgan State, Larry Bird at Indiana State, and Mark Aquirre at DePaul.

1978… was that during the Middle Ages or the Dark Ages?

Signed, someone who graduated college in the Dark Ages

Unfortunately for the Big Red…Cornell doesn’t teach ‘height’ :(

Penn gave Texas a good game two years ago. This year Penn wasn’t as strong (what is the catch-phrase…“rebuilding”?) I watched the Penn/Texas game on TV and all the commentators could talk about was what high SAT scores were out there on the floor.
There was no way Cornell was going to give Stanford a game. Now, it’s fun while it lasts (and probably won’t last much longer) but Belmont is giving DUKE a game!

Go Belmont (nothing against Duke although my brother and his whole Terp family *#&$# Duke). But I like the underdog.

I like the way your brother and his family think. In fact, my son has a T-shirt that says *#&$# Duke.

Momentary thread hijack: wharfrat - I’ve always wondered - do the Terp loyalists and other ACC Duke haters have at least a grudging admiration for Coach K? (It would not be possible to have a rational conversation on this subject with my brother, niece, nephew, bff and all of her crew etc. So I’m picking you ).

Nope, he’s a ferret.

LOL.

That does seem to be his lineage, judging by facial features.

Not this year. Depressing doesn’t even begin to describe our team’s season…

WHAT a game. This is what March Madness is all about.

Belmont came soooo close. Heartbreaker for them.

I do think I picked Duke in my bracketology. The science side of me doesn’t have a heart.

I did not pick Duke, but I certainly didn’t pick Belmont, and I’m proud of how they played. (my pool doesn’t pick the bracket- we pick 16 teams and they have different point values) I don’t think Duke is going far.

Agreed, MOWC. My brilliant self did not pick them to go far and this game seconded that emotion.

Congrats to Cornell for coming as far as they did! (happen to know one of the players on the team) It has been exciting to see how this season for Cornell has unfolded!

I’m the same way except that I would have been happy to see Belmont mess up my bracket. Now I’m pulling for George Mason to beat the team that only Duke prevents from being my most hated.

At least Duke football is bad. Oh wait, so is Notre Dame football now!

I hate them so much!
