My D recently received the Cornell Book Award. Will this honor improve her chances at cornell ED?

what is the cornell book award?

If it’s something important, then yes. What are here general stats (with her permission, of course)?

The cornell book award is given to a specific number (not many) of high juniors who have excelled in extracurriculars as well as academics (i think in the sciences in particular), the award is given by the cornell alumni association of the area.
(I also recieved this award and would like to know if it would help my chances of acceptance ED)

Unless I’m mistaken, I have repeatedly heard that receiving a book award from a school does NOT affect your chances of admission. For example, on another thread someone mentioned that they knew someone who received the Harvard Book Award but was rejected from the school. However, it is by all means a noteworthy accomplishment and if you were intelligent enough to receive such an award in the first place, then I would assume you would still have notable academic credentials.

My S received the Dartmouth Book Award but was rejected from Dartmouth. Definitley had the stats to be accepted. So, I would say it guarantees nothing and helps very little. BTW, he ended up at Cornell and loves it.
