Cornell/Brown/Uchicago?

Hey all

this is my first time on college confidential…

Im an international student from the Southeast asia region, in my 2nd year of college in my country. I obtained a 2120 on the SAT, and a 3.2 gpa after my 3rd semester. I submitted a transfer application to Brown, Cornell and Uchicago, but i’m not so sure how my chances are, and would love to hear some opinions (despite the transfer deadlines being over.)

I’m applying for the economics majors in all the above, with nothing As on two economics modules. I maintained a 3.4 gpa average during the 1st year, but unfortunately dropped to 3.2 after my 3rd semester due to trying to take too many courses =S

My recs were amazing though, and my ECs are below.

-Owner and CEO of a local tutor-recommending company
-Semi-finalist at 2 business plan competitions, one of which is the wharton business plan) still ongoing.

  • college sailing team and executive commitee member
  • set up a chess club in college. I’ve been a chess player for years, and represented my country many times.
  • overseas community service projects, benefitting children affected by the Taiwan Typhoon Fanapi
  • many, many facilitation experiences in college camps
    -private tutoring.
-pretty confident of dragging my gpa up to a 3.8 this semester
