Cornell-CALS ED, Stanford

<p>Hello! </p>

<p>I am a female senior at a public school in NE. Cornell is my first choice-love that school! I’ll be applying ED, major is Biology and Society in CALS. Science, Technology, and Society is my second choice at Stanford. I have others, but am pretty darn confident I wouldn’t have a problem getting in, so I won’t waste your time! </p>

<p>Stats:
Unweighted GPA: 4.0
ACT: 35
SATII: Math II-800, Bio (M)-790
AP: Micro-4, Macro-5, H. Geo-5, Bio-5, Gov-5, APUSH-5. Taking Lit, Comp, Latin, Calc BC this year. </p>

<p>EC:
-National chinchilla breeding association-Member since 09, breeding since 08. Main passion-love those little guys. Have volunteered extensively at shows nationwide, now train new volunteers. Won multiple awards, published in periodical.
-Therapy Dog: Bought, raised, trained a dog on my own. Visited nursing homes starting this summer, been training since summer before Sophomore year. Passed both AKC STAR puppy program and Canine Good Citizen tests.
-Ethical Literacy Club: Junior and Senior year. Work to increase school spirit, promote ethical environment.
-Medical Reserve Corps: member starting Senior year, unique opportunity through UNMC HSA (see below). Receives training, assists in disaster preparation.
-Mu Alpha Theta: active member, worked to get speakers in and make club more fun. Junior and Senior year. </p>

<p>Awards:
-Outstanding Junior Social Studies Student-first recipient of award, chosen by teachers.
-Many through chinchilla showing-several first places, Class champion, etc. </p>

<p>Other:
-Program through local med center where a select group of high schoolers gets to take college level courses, taught by professors during the afternoons. Taking Biomedical Research, Pathology, and Anatomy (in cadaver lab). Elected member of Honor Council, got opportunity to be in Medical Reserve Corps through this as they don’t normally allow high schoolers.
-TA in AP Government. Helps grade, assists in discussions, occasionally gives lectures and teaches class. </p>

<p>Recs:
-Latin teacher I’ve had for 4 years who loves me.
-Professor of summer course through Duke TIP relating to medicine.</p>

<p>Great stats :slight_smile: ECs are decent but keep in mind that a school like Cornell is a reach for anyone, BEST OF LUCK!</p>
