@maria93101 a girl from my school was accepted to CoE for CS
COE seemed savage with the rejections this year. I got rejected, I had scores above the 75th percentiles, and my essays were about tree recursion and big O notation and how those are a metaphor for my life. I don’t know why I got rejected, but I’m not surprised. I’m an asian male applying to computer science, and my GPA was average for Cornell. Congrats to all who were accepted though!
wow there are so many deferrals this year, another kid at my school was deferred too
@vancouverwhales I feel you man. I didn’t get rejected. Deferred, but I still don’t understand. I had a 2330 (780 M/ 790 CR/ 760 W) and a 800 Math 2 and 750 bio E. I even took 7 ap tests averaging a score higher than a 4 and got AP scholar with distinction. I had a 4.3 weighted gpa (bad freshman year) but will have taken 17 AP classes in high school. To top it all off, I’m a National Merit Semifinalist. I thought my ECs were great (non profit work and hospital work) and same with my essays, but guess not. 
I got in!!!
Congrats to all those who got accepted!!! I might have been deferred but I won’t give up! For those of you who got in, have fun! You’d deserved it. I’m honestly not too sad because all of you are amazing people!
@rhdhtai I guess its because I’m an international applicant… and my academic is not super impressive or sth… and I’m asian… but my ECs and everything really fit the school! idk why I got rejected and I’m just in complete shock rn…

I got rejected and gave up my legacy status at U Penn Am I completely screwed for regular decisions now? like for any good schools??
Accepted to CoE. I think scores wise after a certain point (maybe like over 2300/2200 or 34) they didn’t really matter. When it’s just top performers it probably came down more to the personality you showed with your essays and how well they thought you’d fit into Cornell’s community
