does it mean you’ve gotten in?
Initiated means they do not have the form/thing listed. If you think you already sent it in, you should call. It has nothing to do with whether you have been admitted or not.
I sent my missing financial aid forms in a week and a half ago and I know they are all correct, but they still say “initiated.” Should I wait the 7-10 business days for them to process the documents or call now because it’s so close to the deadline?
for the FA ED non-filer statement it asks for our student’s cornell ID number…
we don’t have one yet right?
@MarvinTheSnowCat we don’t :bz
OK, so I’m a mom here and I am feeling just as nervous for my son that you all feel for yourselves… There are days where I think it’ll be a long shot for him to get in and other days where I think his chances are really good… I think he wrote some killer essays but I’m his mom and completely biased, so what do I know… Question for those who have had interviews either face to face or by phone - did you also do a campus visit? I ask because there are several CU alums in our area and an interview was not arranged, however, we did a campus visit/tours.
Either way, for my son and to all of you, best of luck and congrats if you are accepted and condolences if not… BUT remember this, if you are not accepted that means that CU is not the place for you and you WILL end up where you are meant to be
@momof2blondes I had an interview and did do a campus visit and tour.
Hi @momof2blondes - I am also a mom and am enjoying all of these comments and the excitement/nervousness that everyone is having. My son did a tour/visit, then a separate overnight stay and he also had a local interview. I also wish everyone good luck in finding out decisions. Hopefully it is really true that it is a week from today - I’ll believe it when the official email comes out!
@awakentrance thanks!! haha
Ugh, 7 more days guys!
Literally feeling like I’m on an emotional roller coaster rn.
Like one day I’ll feel like “yeah, I can totally get in” and the next I’ll feel like “lol, nah.”
Anyone else?
No one contacted me for interview… is this normal?
@NotAMathlete literally me everyday. one hour i’ll be fine the next I think I won’t be accepted.
@prospect123 yes! It just means that there isn’t an alum near you to give any interview
Hi there, I am a mom of a son who has applied ED to Cornell (CAS). My son has a meeting scheduled with a professor early next week. Have any of you heard throughout this experience when admissions decisions have been made by? I know the results come out on the 10th but does anyone know if Cornell may already know who has been accepted by now?
@KMC8158 my D is a freshman who applied ED last year and was accepted. I’m fairly sure that at times they can change an admission decision up to the last minute.
I’ve been keeping up with this thread more than I check up on social media, so I decided to finally make an account. 7 more days!!! I’m both nervous and scared. I applied early decision for the Fashion Design and Management Program. Any other applicants applying for this major? Anyways I wish all applicants the best of luck! : )
My financial aid says initiated but they never emailed me or contacted me and told me that I was missing anything until I checked myself randomly one day
I posted this earlier on this thread, but for those of you who haven’t read far enough back, you don’t go to the application status portal to check your decision. Cornell will send you a link with a unique password that will take you directly to your decision.
I just actually just went back to the email my daughter got from Cornell last December when she applied ED. Notifications came out last year on the 11th. Two days before, on Dec. 9th she got an email saying that the her decision would be available on Dec. 11 at 5 PM EST. The email also stated that on Dec. 11, she would receive instructions on how to view her decision.
On Dec. 11, NOTIFICATION DAY, she received an email at 9 AM giving her detailed instructions on how to view her decision starting at 5 PM EST.
Good luck to you all. Cornell is an amazing school and my daughter loves it. For those of you on the west coast or elsewhere who will still be in school when decisions come out, may I make a suggestion to NOT open your decision in school. If you get denied or deferred it will be difficult to get through the rest of your day, and this is something that you should do in the privacy of your home, with a support group around you. If you get accepted, then you can jump for joy at home and hoot and holler. Remember, if you check at school and you get in and some of your friends don’t get in to their top choice, it can be awkward. Best to check at home IMO.
Soo a close family member of mine is a head coach for a sport at Cornell. Do you think they could get my decision earlier lololol?
@CCSenioritis You have a connection? Lucky! I wish I had a hook, but I have nothing.
