Does anyone know how many students were deferred (and then admitted) in the fall 2023 cycle? Probably for the current cycle we have more deferred students due to Cornell’s cut-down on the ED number.

FYI—It’s not an interview in the sense that it has anything to do with admittance. It’s a meeting with an alum. My daughter had one this fall (applied ED & deferred)

The interview is non-evaluative. So don’t stress if you don’t get one.

Especially international applicants:

Has anyone got an email from cornell financial aid office asking for the Non-Custodial Parent Waiver Petition form?
Has anyone got an email saying that they approved the petition?

Hi,
Questions about portal astrology. I noticed the request for interview part (Sth like thank you for your interest, CAAAN has received you information) on my portal were removed a few days ago. Does this mean rejection or I’m about to get contacted by an alumni?

It means nothing. And don’t worry if you don’t hear from CAAAN, they may have run out of volunteers, and the meetings are non evaluative anyway.

This usually means nothing but looking at timing it might mean big things happening! Congratulations on this!!!

Don’t read too much into deferrals. It means not accepted.

Just noticed the Alumni interview assignment area of the portal is not there anymore?

Anyone else?

Probably the cake is baked. Don’t need interviews to validate the decision I suspect.

Cornell alumni meetings are non evaluative. They never have enough alumni to connect with each applicant.

@momofboiler1: doesn’t Cornell ask interviewers to complete a form after the interview, which essentially grades the candidate?

Nope. There is no longer any report. Just a check box if there was a meeting or not.
