no interview invite so far. Even it’s a checkbox, but still feel like a auto-reject. Does anyone else get an interview?

My kid got interview but i think its not important. Interviewer asked January 3 ? But he found email 2 weeks later. He interviewed later but it was formal. Cornell interview is really informative, Interviewer said. Interviewer live in our area. Never worried

I got an email saying my dads tax return wasnt signed and that I had to resubmit it with a signature. Is this a good sign? Im just asking because I know that Cornell is Need-Blind, so they don’t review financial aid until admissions is completed.

It is normal.

Mine did too, a couple of weeks ago. And it was personalized, told us exactly what forms we were missing. I am curious too, if this means anything.

Yes, it means you were missing financial aid forms. I know the waiting is difficult, but you’ll have an admission decision soon enough.

I received one as well. They are just making sure everything is ready for final review. It means nothing
please don’t waste time trying to find clues where there are none.

This is my third time around the process and one thing that I have found out for certain is that the larger schools, especially the Ivies, don’t leave breadcrumbs lying around that have any real meaning. I learned the hard way the first time; things that look like they might mean one thing, can mean something else entirely different, or nothing at all. The second time around, I am ashamed to say that I fell into the admissions detective trap once again. Humbling.

As painful as it is to just sit and wait, I’m only willing to inflict so much pain on myself.

Best.

Do colleges send “Likely Letters” ?

Some do, including Cornell. In the ED round, it’s virtually all recruited athletes who receive LLs. RD likely letters are given to a relatively small proportion of applicants. Cornell COE also sends early writes in RD (which is an early notice of admission).

I’ve read that in some prior years SHA released some decisions prior to Ivy day, but it’s unclear if this happened last year and if it’s all or just some. Anyone have any insight?

Good luck everyone on RD. Cornell sends Transfer Option for Dyson and also Nolan School of Hotel Administration. I don’t know if it’s better than being waitlisted or if waitlisted is better. I got the TO when applying senior year.

This means they didn’t get the required documents to determine your financial package. Doesn’t have anything to do with admission results. These processes are run separately but I do wonder why would a school need to look at financials if they weren’t going to use it? Of course, this is just my assumption. There are more knowledge people on this thread. I am just using a simple logic with not special insights. All the very best. I have heard some great things about this school, clearly looks like a lot of people apply here these days. I am sure it’s more selective than SD state per one ranking by US News. You will get in if that’s where you really want to go.

Cornell specifically requests mid year grades from senior year: how important are those in their RD evaluation? Asking because my sister’s grades went a notch down

did anyone in this group receive interview invite for RD round? Thanks

Yes! I had mine February 4th and it lasted ~40 minutes! It was with a girl who went to Cornell for her Masters, but was still super informative

Does anyone know if brooks does likely letters? Or are likely letters just saying you’ll get into cornell.

My sister went through a sports recruiting process, told LLs are predominantly for athletes in the ED round. Of course there are non athlete who receive LLs, but it’s very exceptionnal. Best of luck!!

yes!

I believe colleges are just trying to see if seniors are maintaining the academic performance level as indicated by originally shared transcripts. I don’t think it makes a big difference unless the slide is significant and is beyond the expected variability. No cause to worry I’d say.
