Cornell Class of 2028 Official Thread

This year they had forced triples and converted common rooms in some of the older freshman dorms.

Good effort at curtailing the astrologists, although they seem determined to waste their time and clog the feed.

Appreciate the feedback. We will have some tough decisions to make in the next four weeks or so
getting firsthand opinions is invaluable. Yours wouldn’t happen to be in engineering, would they?

No sorry. Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions about Cornell in general though.

Housing for sophomores has never been a problem. I think cornell just underestimated how many upper classman would stay on campus. This was the first (and hopefully last) time that upperclassmen picked dorms before sophomores due to all of the new housing. I think they will rethink that next year. Unfortunately housing for freshman has been a problem at so many schools. At least at Cornell they try to resolve any over crowding as the semester goes on by moving freshman as space opens up. I have a Cornell graduate and a freshman who both love Cornell. You can also DM me if you have any questions.

I see this in Financial aid status.

Its been like that for me, for a long time ago now. Dont think it means anything.

Financial aid’s job is to have everything they need for all students accounts so they can prepare a package if a student is admitted. They don’t know who is offered admission until they are sent out to the student. Every person’s situation is different so don’t compare your FA interactions to anyone else. I’ve gone through this twice. The FA pages told us nothing of what to predict. Take a breath, you will know soon. Good luck to all!

Does anyone here know whether Cornell has a fund for when students get unpaid positions but still wants some form of payment for their time? I know some other schools have it but cant seem to find anything on Cornell’s website about whether they have it or not.

Admissions is independent of FA office at a lot of top colleges, but before admissions, they do get info of admissions, they do end up offering FA packages or start working on them. This was true for us for USC , when they started asking fr documents 3 days before decisions.

Also saw this link as an early sign on previous thread.

Unless someone has a new link for this year

Also saw a few people who posted about FA emails in FEb and March were accepted / waitlisted in the 2027 thread, and some never provided an update.

Wth, how is it old? It says class of 2028?

Noticed withdrawal link missing too, financial docs are still processing lol. Drop down items seem the same. Hope everyone has a good rest of their weekend.

I just copied it from the old thread, so I assumed.

There is no link to signup though.

What do you mean only waitlist correspondance is there? Do you not also see options to upload “ED Postpone,” “optional supplemental” and “trcd course description” etc
???

This is what I see when I log into the FA portal. I did speak to someone in the FA office who confirmed that our FA application is complete and that they have everything they need.

So seeing that means no more docs? If so then maybe processing is having docs, then no to do is once everything is processed
