Hey, so my school principal back in November received an email from Cornell Engineering asking if they had any students from my school with exceptional applications. He told me he submitted my name. A few weeks ago, he called me to his office to tell me that they responded saying they loved my application. Since then the college has been very pushy about financial aid, sending emails every week about missing or broken parts of my financial aid application. Is this a admission sign? Should I disregard it?

Cornell’s financial aid office is separate from admissions. If you applied for financial aid and have missing documents, of course you shouldn’t disregard it. But it isn’t a signal of admission.

The contact between your high school and the Engineering department is a good sign, but not a sure thing.

Get your financial docs in order, and good luck on Ivy Day.

We had something missing from our financial aid info and they contacted us a few days before ED decision day. I called financial aid and they were very helpful. They said it was completely separate and since it was so close to the decision day, they weren’t sure that his acceptance would come with the FA package (if he got one). Sure enough, he got accepted and got the aid offer too! We were very happy with both  I would suggest calling them if you have any questions but getting that info in ASAP.

The same thing happened to me although they reached out late January and then again in Feb asking me to send it as soon as possible. Hoping for good news !!

ooh even for brooks? i thought cornell sends them 3/15 but thanks!

Does anyone have any knowledge on if likely letters were sent in 2024? I know they went out March 15, 2023, but I haven’t seen a single post here or Reddit about Cornell likely letters from 2024

My Hotelie freshman daughter was accepted last year on February 29, weeks before Ivy day. She got an email that her portal had an update.

Thanks for your response. Do you happen to know if most of the admitted Nolen students heard at the same time or if it was only a few who heard early? Also, how does your daughter like the program and Nolen? (my child was deferred from ED)

Does anyone else have no current to do item found in their finaid todo list?

Don’t even have a financial aid to do list. That can’t be a good sign :joy:

Nah I had one, then it said all processing, now it says no current items found. They’ve been emailing me for weeks asking for financial aid documents, and when I sent them the missing info I saw this.
